Com a demissão de Pedro Martins do cargo de CEO, o Santos vem procurando um nome para assumir o comando executivo do futebol do clube. Dentre as várias opções sondadas pelo clube da Vila Belmiro, um dirigente rival foi considerado como alvo.
Segundo o GE, o Peixe fez uma sondagem a Fabinho Soldado, diretor de futebol do Corinthians para trocar o Parque São Jorge pelo litoral paulista. Mas a procura dos santistas pelo dirigente corintiano não teve sucesso, com a recusa deste em prosseguir com as conversas.

Fabinho decidiu por conversar com o Santos muito por ‘respeito’ ao Alvinegro Praiano e também pelos problemas internos do Timão. Havia dúvidas sobre a permanência do diretor corintiano diante do afastamento de Augusto Melo do cargo da presidência do clube, ocorrido no começo da semana, e a ascensão de Osmar Stábile como mandatário interino.
Mas o diretor acabou ganhando o respaldo de Stábile para prosseguir com seu trabalho junto ao futebol do Corinthians. Com isso, o executivo corintiano optou por seguir no Parque São Jorge, apontando que o momento seria de ‘não abandonar’ o trabalho feito com Dorival Júnior, o clube e a comissão técnica em um momento conturbado dentro e fora de campo, depois da queda na Copa Sul-Americana

No começo desta semana, Pedro Martins pediu demissão do cargo de CEO do Santos. Segundo as informações, uma série de problemas entre o executivo e a diretoria sobre decisões internas e a pressão dos maus resultados na temporada resultaram na saída deste.
O Peixe tem sondado vários nomes para o cargo, um deles Alexandre Mattos. Atualmente CEO do Cruzeiro, o executivo está na lista de possíveis contratações para o cargo, mas ainda não há proposta oficial a ser discutida entre as partes neste momento.
