Pablo Torre investigation links Jordon Hudson to Bill Belichick’s declining Patriots tenure

Bill Belichick has been marred by recent controversies, notably his relationship with Jordon Hudson and now the investigative journalist, Pablo Torre, suggests that her involvement may have influenced the 72-year-old’s final years with the New England Patriots.

Torre’s inquiry began in February when he reported that Hudson had been acting as Belichick‘s agent as he explored the depth of their relationship and its potential impact on the six-time Super Bowl champion’s coaching decisions.

A pivotal moment in the probe reportedly came when fan cam footage from November 28, 2021, during a Patriots game against the Tennessee Titans, shows the 24-year-old in the vicinity of Belichick‘s seats at Gillette Stadium.

Torre highlighted this as evidence of Hudson‘s involvement in the Patriots’ professional environment during a period of declining team performance, as he spoke on the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast.

“By the summer of 2023, she was spending time in Foxborough, Mass., where the Patriots are headquartered,” Torre noted on the show, spotting the woman several years before she went public with the NFL coaching legend.

That date places Hudson‘s appearance during a pivotal time for the Patriots-after Tom Brady’s departure and amid mounting losses for Belichick‘s team. They finished with a .588 record in the AFC East that season and behind the Buffalo Bills.

They then slumped to .471 the season later as the Miami Dolphins overtook them, before finally finishing .235 in the final season of Belichick‘s run at the team, in last place behind the New York Jets.

He then announced his departure from the team at the end of that season in a decision “mutually agreed” between the iconic head coach and the owner, Robert Kraft. He embarked on a sabbatical year before linking up with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the NCAA.

The Patriots have since finished .235 again in the 2024/25 NFL season, but found some promise in the form of their young quarterback, Drake Maye and now head into the upcoming campaign with a hope of stepping forwards.

Belichick’s Tar Heels venture overshadowed by Hudson

With Belichick now entering a new coaching phase at the University of North Carolina, questions about Hudson’s influence have followed.

Ted Johnson, a former linebacker for the Patriots, has also openly criticized the hiring, pointing to UNC’s lack of due diligence in the selection process after Belichick was rejected by the Atlanta Falcons.

“I’ve always been hesitant about that hire,” Johnson said. “Because I hold college coaches to a higher standard than NFL coaches.

“I’m surprised that UNC never called Atlanta on why they passed on Bill Belichick in that hiring in Atlanta.”

“I think the Carolina Tar Heels should consider firing Bill Belichick. They should consider letting him go at this point.”

As speculation continues and Hudson remains a figure of public interest, Pablo Torre’s reporting has drawn strong reactions. Is he going too far, or is his work what the people need to know? Either way, he shows no signs of slowing down.
