Die Katze ist aus dem Sack. Nur ein paar Stunden vor dem wichtigen Meisterschafts-Spiel gegen den VfL Gummersbach (Donnerstag, 19 Uhr/live bei SPORTBILD.de und Dyn) geben die Füchse Berlin bekannt, dass die Abwerbung von Tobias Grøndahl (24/SPORT BILD berichtete) erfolgreich gewesen ist.
Die Berliner verstärken sich in der neuen Saison mit dem Rückraum-Star aus Norwegen. Tobias Grøndahl, der vom Gidsel-Ex-Klub GOG aus Dänemark kommt, unterschreibt einen Vertrag bis 2028.
Irrer Kempa-Trick aus 30 Metern!: Gummersbach zaubert gegen Löwen
Nach dem Spiel gegen den VfL Gummersbach wird Kapitän Paul Drux (30), der mitten in der Saison seine Karriere verletzungsbedingt beenden musste, verabschiedet und sein Nachfolger den Fans gleich vorgestellt. Grøndahl soll als Spielmacher in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga und in der Champions League dann vor allem Nils Lichtlein (22) entlasten.
Grøndahl verlässt ein Jahr vor dem Ende seiner Vertragslaufzeit den GOG Håndbold. Er spielt erstmals außerhalb von Skandinavien und bekommt in Berlin die Nummer 15. Das hat bei Familie Grøndahl Tradition. Die Nummer 15 trugen auch schon seine Eltern sowie sein Bruder auf dem Rücken.

Grøndahl (52 Länderspiele für Norwegen): „Ich fühle mich großartig. Es ist eine große Ehre, in diesem tollen Verein mit so vielen großartigen Spielern wie Mathias Gidsel, Lasse Andersson und vielen mehr spielen zu dürfen. Mein Hauptziel ist es immer, alles zu gewinnen. Momentan haben die Füchse die Möglichkeit, beides zu gewinnen, die Deutsche Meisterschaft und die Champions League. Das wird also auch mein Ziel für die nächsten Spielzeiten sein.“
Vorstand Sport Stefan Kretzschmar (52) verrät: „Wir haben lange genug an Tobias Grøndahl gearbeitet und uns mit ihm beschäftigt. Ich finde, dass er hervorragend zu uns passt und uns das gewisse Etwas geben kann. Er ist ein torgefährlicher Spielmacher, der gut Strategie und Regie führen kann.“
