Na sua ótica, o Palmeiras se manteve como a equipe mais beneficiada nos eventos promovidos por Conmebol e CBF, projetando a equipe alviverde de Abel Ferreira avançando para as próximas fases das Copas. “Parece ter tirado a sorte grande duas vezes no mesmo dia”, introduziu.
Em seu blog na “Revista Oeste”, o jornalista considerou favoráveis os cenários para o Palmeiras. Na Libertadores, foi sorteado para medir forças com o Universitário (Peru). Para Milton Neves, os palestrinos não deverão encontrar dificuldades para eliminar os peruanos. “Com todo respeito ao simpático clube peruano, mas ‘nem precisa’ ter jogo. Na opinião do comentarista, a diferença entre os dois gigantes do futebol paulista se tornou ‘abissal’, depois do Timão ter levado a melhor sobre o próprio Verdão na final do estadual.
“Enquanto o time de Abel Ferreira segue sólido, competitivo e bem treinado, o Corinthians ainda tateia no escuro. Vive uma crise que mistura política, finanças e bola (ou a falta dela)”, comparou Miltão, que sinalizou o Palmeiras tratando os Derbys da Copa do Brasil como uma revanche pela perda do título do Paulistão.
Assim, Milton Neves ressaltou que a grande fase palmeirense foi premiada com uma ‘bênção divina’ nos dois sorteios do começo da semana. “Sorte demais ou coincidência? O fato é que, nacional ou internacionalmente, o Verdão vem colecionando ‘sorteios favoráveis’ nos últimos anos”, pontuou.
