VfL Gummersbach
Endspurt in der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga. Nur noch zwei Siege trennen die Füchse Berlin von der ersten Meisterschaft der Vereinsgeschichte. Am Donnerstag müssen die Berliner zu Hause gegen den VfL Gummersbach (19 Uhr, Dyn/Anzeige) ran.
Da kommt mit den Nationalspielern Julian Köster, Miro Schluroff (beide 25) und Mathis Häseler (23) keine Laufkundschaft in die Berliner Max-Schmeling-Halle (9000 ausverkauft). Nicht nur Füchse-Superstar Mathias Gidsel (26) muss dann wieder in Topform performen. Auch auf „Mister Zuverlässig“ kommt es an.
Kreisläuferkante Mijajlo Marsenic (32) ist der einzige Fuchs, der alle Spiele bei den Berlinern bestritten hat. Andere kommen zwar auch 32 Partien in der Statistik, standen aber nicht immer auf dem Feld.

Marsenic zu SPORT BILD: „Mein Rücken zwickt ein bisschen, aber ansonsten danke ich Gott, dass ich gerade so fit bin.“ Der 2,03-Meter-Riese kann nach sieben Jahren bei den Füchsen endlich wieder nach einer Meisterschaft greifen.
Der serbische Nationalspieler hat sowas wie eine eingebaute Titel-Garantie: „Bei all meinen Teams zuvor war ich Meister (Metalurg Skopje, Vadar Skopje d. Red.), mit Vadar sogar Champions League Sieger. Aber mit den Füchsen in der Bundesliga Meister zu werden, wäre der größte Erfolg meiner Karriere. Ich kann es gar nicht erwarten, die letzten Spiele zu machen.“

Marsenic hat nicht nur das Titel-Gen, er ist auch der Energizer bei den Füchsen. Der Mann, der für den Pep im Spiel sorgt: „Ja, das ist meine Rolle, wenn die anderen vielleicht etwas müde werden, mit Emotionen wieder Energie ins Team und in unser Spiel zu bringen, dabei bin ich im normalen Leben eigentlich ein ganz ruhiger Kerl.“
Füchse-Boss Bob Hanning (57) sagt über seinen Abwehrchef: „Marca ist für uns wie ein Jungfuchs, der hier groß geworden ist, er ist nach sieben Jahren kein ausländischer Spieler mehr, er hat längst die Füchse-DNA.“ Der Gelobte lacht: „Das ist nett, ich dachte, ich wäre wie ein altes Möbelstück, dass inzwischen dazu gehört.“

Was ist jetzt anders als früher?
„Als wir Dritter, Vierter, Fünfter waren wir immer nah dran, es hat uns aber immer ein wenig Qualität gefehlt. Wir haben uns alle noch einmal weiterentwickelt, vor allem unsere jungen Spieler wie Tim, Nils oder Matthes. Ich bin sehr glücklich in dieser Mannschaft und mit dieser Mannschaft spielen zu dürfen.“
Und Marsenic (Vertrag bis 2027) verrät: „Ich wollte nicht mehr weg. Ich hatte in den sieben Jahren nie das Gefühl, dass wir schon fertig sind. Ich bin ein Typ, der nicht gern wechselt und der sich wohlfühlen muss, da wo er spielt, dann kann ich auch Leistung bringen. Ich fühle mich bei den Füchsen extrem wohl. Inzwischen spiele ich im besten Team der Welt, nicht nur sportlich, sondern auch menschlich.“
Und weiter: „Das ist nicht so dahingesagt. Das ist auch ein Verdienst von Bob Hanning, der seine jungen Spieler auf uns perfekt vorbereitet und erzogen hat, wir sind alle Freunde auf dem Parkett und außerhalb.“

Marsenic: „Ich habe noch nie einen Spieler gesehen, der so viel einer Mannschaft gibt, wie er. Es gab schon viele Topstars, die vielleicht noch mehr gewonnen haben, aber keiner spielt so wie er. Es macht im Training und im Spiel so viel Spaß mit ihm zusammenzuspielen, seine Ideen sind genial. Toll ist auch seine Zusammenarbeit mit unserem Trainer, der ihn auch kreativ sein lässt. Er reißt uns alle mit. Er ist mit Abstand der beste Spieler, den ich je gesehen habe und es wird auch so schnell keinen zweiten Gidsel geben. Der Typ ist von einer anderen Welt.“
Marsenic lacht: „Ich bin eigentlich für die Energie zuständig, aber Mathias braucht die nicht. Wir waren nach Melsungen alle kaputt, aber ich hatte das Gefühl nach einer Flasche Wasser und mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht wollte Mathias schon wieder spielen.“

Dukla získala mladého útočníka Černáka z Jablonce
„Michal je mladý a dynamický hráč s prvoligovou zkušeností. Očekávám od něj hladovost, touhu na sobě pracovat a zlepšovat se. Nebyli jsme jediní, kdo se snažil získat jeho podpis, a jsem rád, že jsme uspěli,“ řekl nový sportovní ředitel Dukly Martin Hašek.Černák je odchovancem Jablonce, za který debutoval v lize už v 16 letech. V nejvyšší soutěži dosud odehrál 66 zápasů a dal tři góly.„Po sezoně jsme s agentem řešili, jaký krok bude v mé kariéře ten správný. Projekt Dukly nám dával největší smysl,“ uvedl Černák. „Líbí se mi, co se na Dukle chystá a kam vše směřuje. Myslím si, že pro hráče mého typu jde o skvělé místo, kde budu mít prostor se dále rozvíjet. Věřím, že příští sezona bude úspěšnější než ta minulá a fanouškům budeme dělat radost předvedenou hrou i výsledky,“ prohlásil.
