Artur Cabral reforça o Fogão no Mundial – Reprodução/Instagram
Artur Cabral será o substituto de Igor Jesus no Botafogo. Nas últimas horas, o clube da Estrela Solitária chegou a um acordo com o Benfica pela transferência do atacante de 27 anos. Segundo informações do ge.com, o contrato foi assinado na manhã deste domingo e será válido por três temporadas. O mais novo reforço alvinegro já estará à disposição de Renato Paiva para o Mundial de Clubes.
Para selar a contratação, a diretoria botafoguense pagará cerca de 15 milhões de euros (R$ 95 milhões) aos portugueses. Este montante inclui um custo fixo e bônus por metas alcançadas. De acordo com a publicação, outro fator que pesou na decisão do jogador é que futuramente ele poderá se transferir para o Lyon, da França, que também pertence a John Textor.

No Botafogo, Artur Cabral terá a dura missão de substituir Igor Jesus, que foi comprado pelo Nottingham Forest, da Inglaterra. Em pouco tempo, o camisa 99 caiu nas graças da torcida e foi peça fundamental para os títulos do Campeonato Brasileiro e da Libertadores em 2024.
“Feliz por tudo que fiz nesse clube. Foi uma trajetória maravilhosa. Foi pouco tempo, mas vitorioso. Muito feliz pelo reconhecimento do torcedor de fazer uma festa para mim”, relatou Igor Jesus, que vai disputar o Mundial pelo clube brasileiro antes de partir para a Europa.
Botafogo tem outros três reforços contratados
Além de Artur Cabral, o Botafogo terá outras três caras novas nos Estados Unidos: o goleiro Cristhian Loor, o zagueiro Kaio Pantaleão e o meia Álvaro Montoro. Na lista de relacionados ficaram de fora o volante Patrick de Paula e o atacante Elias Manoel. Lesionado, Jeffinho também será ausência.
Arthur ainda não tem data definida para a estreia, mas se reapresentará ao time carioca nas próximas horas.
O Botafogo está no Grupo B ao lado de Paris Saint-Germain (França), Atlético de Madrid (Espanha) e Seattle Sounders (Estados Unidos). A estreia será diante dos americanos, no dia 15 (domingo), em Seattle.
