Am Sonntag (8. Juni/15 Uhr) sind alle neun Spiele des 34. und letzten Spieltags der Daikin HBL angesetzt. Die Rhein-Neckar Löwen empfangen die Füchse Berlin. Der kostenpflichtige Streaminganbieter Dyn (Anzeige) überträgt das Duell live. Die Übertragung startet um 14.30 Uhr. Anett Sattler moderiert, Markus Götz kommentiert und Pascal Hens ist als Experte dabei.

Taktgeber Mathias Gidsel (26) meint: „Jetzt sind es zwei Finger an der Meisterschale. Es gibt keine Zweifel in unserer Mannschaft. Wir müssen noch eine gute Leistung bringen und dann sind wir deutscher Meister.“
Und weiter: „Dieser Kader zeigt jede Woche, dass wir eine absolute Spitzenmannschaft sind. Wir sind seit vielen Spielen ungeschlagen, wieso soll diese Serie am Sonntag stoppen, nur weil es das letzte Bundesliga-Spiel ist?“

Lob gab es im Vorfeld auch vom Gegner. Löwen-Star Juri Knorr (25): „Was Gidsel gerade macht, ist mit nichts zu vergleichen, was ich jemals gesehen habe. So eine Dominanz habe ich noch nie bei einem Spieler gesehen.“
Für den DHB-Star wird es ebenfalls ein besonderes Spiel. Knorr bestreitet am Sonntag sein letztes Spiel für die Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Ab der kommenden Spielzeit läuft er für den dänischen Top-Klub Aalborg Handbold auf.
