At least momentarily, Trump put aside his public spat with tech industry billionaire Elon Musk to instead watch the intense battles inside the mixed martial arts cage.

Trump was accompanied by UFC president Dana White, and the pair made their way to their cage-side seats for the UFC 316 event to the tune of Kid Rock’s “American Bad Ass”. Trump and White did the same during the UFC card last November at Madison Square Garden, only on that occasion they were joined by Musk.
Trump shook hands with fans and followers – a heavyweight lineup that included retired boxer Mike Tyson – on his way to the cage. The president was accompanied by his daughter Ivanka Trump and her husband Jared Kushner, along with his son Eric Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
Trump shook hands with the UFC broadcast team that included Joe Rogan. Rogan hosted Trump on his podcast for hours in the final stages of last year’s campaign.
Many UFC fans were jubilant at Trump’s presence and held up mobile devices to take photos of him. Trump is a longtime UFC enthusiast and frequently attends major fights.
Trump arrived in time for the start of a card that included two championship fights. Julianna Pena and Merab Dvalishvili were scheduled to defend their respective 135-pound championships.
UFC fighter Kevin Holland submitted Chilean-Brazilian Vicente Luque to win the first fight under Trump’s watchful eye. He climbed the cage and shook hands with the president.
He briefly spoke with Trump and White before returning for his post-fight interview.
