Der Countdown läuft: Die U21-Europameisterschaft steht vor der Tür und bringt den deutschen Fußballnachwuchs erneut auf die große Bühne. Am Donnerstag, dem 12. Juni, um 21 Uhr trifft die Mannschaft von Trainer Antonio Di Salvo (46) im slowakischen Nitra auf Slowenien. SPORT BILD verrät Ihnen, wo Sie das Spiel im Free-TV sehen können.

U21 reist mit starkem Rückenwind an

Die DFB-Elf geht mit großem Selbstvertrauen ins Turnier: Seit 15 Spielen ist das Team ungeschlagen. Dennoch sitzt der Frust über das frühe Aus bei der EM 2023 noch tief. Damals war bereits nach der Gruppenphase Schluss – eine Enttäuschung, die die junge Mannschaft in diesem Jahr unbedingt vergessen machen will.

In der Vorrundengruppe B wartet nach dem Auftakt gegen Slowenien am 15. Juni die Partie gegen Tschechien. Drei Tage später kommt es zum möglicherweise entscheidenden Spiel gegen Mitfavorit England (18. Juni).

[–>Dieses Duell könnte bereits über den Gruppensieg entscheiden. Seit der Niederlage gegen eben jene Engländer bei der EM 2023 blieb das deutsche Team in allen Pflichtspielen unbesiegt – ein klarer Fingerzeig in Richtung Titelambitionen.

Der aktuelle Titelträger ist England. Die „Young Lions“ gewannen 2023 die U21-Europameisterschaft in Rumänien und Georgien. Im Finale setzten sie sich mit 1:0 gegen Spanien durch.

Die Bilanz der vergangenen Jahre zeigt, welches Potenzial in Deutschlands U21 steckt. Vor der enttäuschenden EM 2023 stand die DFB-Auswahl dreimal in Folge im Finale. 2017 und 2021 wurde man Europameister, den ersten Titel hatte das Team 2009 geholt.

Fans dürfen sich freuen: Alle Spiele mit deutscher Beteiligung werden live und kostenfrei auf Sat.1 übertragen. Die Partie gegen Slowenien beginnt um 21 Uhr, der Sender startet die Vorberichterstattung bereits um 20.15 Uhr. Wer auch die anderen Begegnungen verfolgen möchte, kann auf ProSieben MAXX, ran.de oder die Streamingplattform Joyn ausweichen.
