Travis Kelce debuts bold Taylor Swift-inspired look ahead of 2025 NFL season

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is drawing attention this offseason-and not just for his on-field ambitions.

The three-time Super Bowl champion recently debuted a noticeably longer hairstyle at a family wedding, sparking buzz on social media.

Kelce was seen attending his cousin Tanner Corum‘s wedding in Knoxville, Tennessee, accompanied by pop superstar girlfriend Taylor Swift, marking yet another high-profile public appearance for the celebrity couple.

Photos of the NFL veteran with his fresh, grown-out locks quickly went viral. Fans had mixed reactions, with some praising the new look and others poking fun.

One social media user joked, “Looks like someone’s grandfather,” referencing the style’s unexpected departure from his signature clean-cut appearance.

While the internet debated his new hairstyle, it symbolized more than just a fashion statement.

The 35-year-old NFL star seems to be embracing transformation in all aspects of his life-physically, mentally, and professionally-as he prepares for what could be his final run in the NFL.

A new look and a new mindset

Kelce‘s decision to shake up his appearance comes on the heels of a tumultuous 2024 season. The Chiefs came up short in Super Bowl LIX against the Philadelphia Eagles, and Kelce‘s age and wear-and-tear raised speculation that he might call it a career.

But instead of retiring, the star tight end re-signed with Kansas City for a reported $17 million extension, signaling his commitment to another season under center with quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

Notably, Mahomes has gone on record saying Kelce looks “fresher” and “leaner” than last year. Much of that rejuvenation may be attributed to Kelce‘s off-season fitness regimen, which now includes padel-a fast-paced racket sport that’s surged in popularity among athletes.

According to reports, Kelce has been using the game as a low-impact yet effective way to maintain peak cardiovascular fitness and flexibility.

“He looks like he’s dropped a few pounds and is moving better than I’ve seen in a while,” one Chiefs insider noted.

The hairstyle change, combined with his newfound passion for padel, seems to reflect a broader reinvention for Kelce, who continues to expand his presence off the field with commercials, his podcast “New Heights,” and his high-profile relationship with Swift.

Still hungry for success

Despite being in the later stages of his career, Kelce remains focused on winning. The Chiefs are poised to make another deep playoff run, and with Mahomes under center and Kelce returning as a primary offensive weapon, expectations are once again sky-high in Kansas City.

While some fans may still be adjusting to Kelce‘s new look, there’s no mistaking his intentions: he’s back, he’s focused, and he’s aiming to reclaim the Lombardi Trophy.

As for the hairstyle? If he delivers another championship, Chiefs Kingdom probably won’t mind if he lets it grow even longer.

Micah Parsons’ absence will impact Packers vs. Bears, beyond dramatically: ‘Our whole game plan was centered around him’

In a vacuum, perhaps Ben Johnson’s statement was believable. The Chicago Bears head coach sought this week to downplay the season-ending ACL tear to edge rusher Micah Parsons ahead of the Packers’ Saturday night visit to Chicago.AdvertisementAdvertisementAdvertisement“Just because one player goes down, that doesn’t mean that this is going to change a whole lot for them,” Johnson said Wednesday. “I know everyone wants to make it about the one particular player, but this is a very good defense, regardless of who’s on the field for them.”No one is arguing Parsons was the only talent on a Packers defense ranked eighth in scoring and sixth overall.
