Savannah James couldn’t hold back her emotions as her youngest son, Bryce Maximus James, celebrated two major milestones – turning 18 and becoming the first in the James family to commit to an out-of-state college. On Bryce’s special day, Savannah took to Instagram with a heartfelt birthday tribute that had fans reaching for tissues.
The post featured a carousel of throwback photos, capturing everything from Bryce’s childhood smiles to tender mother-son moments over the years. “18 is CRAAAAAZZYY!!! Happiest Birthday, Bryce Maximus!!” she captioned the post, pouring out her pride and love for her middle child.
Bryce, now 6-foot-4 and a four-star basketball prospect, has been making waves on and off the court. Just weeks ago, he walked across the graduation stage with his diploma in hand and a commitment to the University of Arizona locked in. The moment marked a huge step not just in Bryce’s athletic journey – but also for the James family.
Savannah is the proudest mom
On the latest episode of her podcast, Everybody’s Crazy, Savannah opened up about how meaningful the moment truly was:
“It wasn’t to me, but here I am being such a mom. So, my middle son, Bryce, signed to go to college out of state. That was the craziest good thing because he was the first.”
While older brother Bronny James stayed close to home by attending USC, Bryce is blazing his own trail. Savannah admitted the decision left her feeling emotional but incredibly proud – a feeling that fueled her excitement around his milestone birthday.
LeBron James, famously protective and devoted to his family, has also publicly celebrated Bryce’s rise, but it was Savannah’s voice that took center stage this time.
Savannah always finds time for her children
From cheering at games to launching her own skincare line (Reframe, inspired by daughter Zhuri), the businesswoman and podcast host has never missed a moment to spotlight her children’s growth – and this was no exception.
As Bryce prepares to take the court with the Arizona Wildcats, his journey is just beginning. With talent, a famous name, and the full support of a loving family, the young guard is one step closer to joining his brother and father in the NBA spotlight.
For now, though, it’s all about family, memories – and one emotional mom beaming with pride.
