Conor McGregor is facing renewed scrutiny after being captured on video assaulting a man during a chaotic scene inside one of Ibiza’s most famous nightclubs as the former UFC champion continues his trend for violence.
The incident occurred on Tuesday, June 17 at Pacha, a well-known hotspot on the Spanish party island, where the Irishman was partying in the early hours of the morning with some of his friends.
The 36-year-old, known as much for his out-of-ring controversies as for his fighting career, was seen exchanging words with a fellow club patron before delivering two aggressive punches that floored the man.
Eyewitness accounts and video footage, obtained by The Sun, show McGregor striking the man without warning, further solidifying his distasteful reputation for volatile behavior in public settings.
In the video, he can be seen standing on a raised platform, talking closely with a group of men. After wrapping an arm around one of their shoulders, he suddenly throws a left-hand punch while holding a drink in his right.
Although the initial blow appeared to glance off the target, the second left hook landed cleanly, sending the individual to the ground in a moment described as explosive and unsettling.
“Clearly something’s been said to annoy him,” an eyewitness told The Sun. “And he’s reacted very badly.
“The guy seemed to fall to the floor, and his mates came to pick him up and get him away.”
Several others described the aftermath as one-sided. The man who was punched was swiftly removed from the club by security, who likely didn’t want to take their chances against a professional fighting athlete. So, McGregor remained inside, continuing to drink.
“When Conor hit him, about five people fell to the floor as the guy stumbled back,” another observer said to The Sun. “It was a bit like bowling pins, but the guy was really shaken by the hits.”
McGregor’s history of violence
The incident took place at 05:53 a.m., after McGregor had been partying for several hours. He had earlier been seen at multiple venues, including Wayne Lineker‘s O Beach Club, where he posed for photos with British glamour model Katie Price.
Later in the evening, he transitioned from red shorts and sunglasses to a black-and-white patterned outfit as he moved from Ushuaia to Pacha, where the incident unfolded.
This latest altercation is not Conor’s first brush with violent public behavior. In July 2022, at the same resort, he was seen stomping on a teenager’s hat after refusing to sign it.
And in 2019, he infamously punched an older man in a Dublin pub for declining a drink of McGregor‘s Proper Twelve whiskey.
While McGregor hasn’t fought professionally since 2021, his name has remained in headlines, often for reasons unrelated to sport and his conduct during this Ibiza trip may add yet another layer to his long list of controversies
For now, there has been no official statement from McGregor‘s camp or Spanish law enforcement regarding possible legal consequences. However, the footage has already circulated widely and may become impossible to ignore.
