Livvy became a full-blown social media phenomenon, amassing over 7 million followers on TikTok by 2023, with another 4 million on Instagram. 2023: A Breakout Year in Business
Following the NCAA’s policy shift allowing collegiate athletes to monetize their name, image, and likeness (NIL), Dunne swiftly emerged as a major commercial force. Forecasts that she would become a revenue magnet proved correct.
Her estimated net worth now stands at $3.3 million, thanks in part to lucrative brand deals with companies such as Grubhub, Vuori, Bodyarmor, and American Eagle Outfitters. In an appearance on NBC’s Today, Dunne revealed that some of her sponsorships reach seven-figure amounts.
AI Controversy Sparks Academic Debate
In 2023, Dunne found herself at the center of controversy when she posted a TikTok video promoting the AI platform Caktus.ia. In the clip, she joked about using the app for “inspiration” on an essay due that night, cutting from the interface to her surprised expression.
Shortly afterward, LSU issued a statement emphasizing the importance of academic integrity:
At LSU, our faculty and students are empowered to use technology to learn and achieve the highest standards of academic integrity. However, using AI to produce work that a student then presents as their own may constitute academic misconduct, as outlined in the Student Code of Conduct.
Dunne’s Soccer Misadventure Ahead of the World Cup
With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to take place across Mexico, the United States, and Canada, promotional events are in full swing – and Livvy Dunne was invited to take part in one such activation.
Her challenge? Simply kick a soccer ball into a small goal. But Dunne quickly proved that soccer may not be in her wheelhouse. On her attempt, she misfired – and accidentally struck a replica of the World Cup trophy, shattering it. Clearly embarrassed, she rushed over to inspect the damage, then darted off with a stunned expression. The humorous moment was quickly immortalized online.
