Die Zeichen beim FC Barcelona stehen für Marc-André ter Stegen (33) immer mehr auf Abschied.
[–>Nach einer langen Verletzungspause ist Deutschlands Nummer 1 zwar zur Topform zurückgekehrt – doch bei Barça scheint seine Zukunft ungewiss. Sky-Experte Lothar Matthäus (64) schreibt in seiner Sky-Kolumne: „Die Situation von Marc-Andre ter Stegen beim FC Barcelona ist für ihn unangenehm.“
Der Grund: Barça hat mit Joan Garcia einen neuen, neun Jahre jüngeren Keeper verpflichtet – ein deutliches Zeichen für die Zukunftsplanung des Klubs. Garcia gilt als Talent mit Perspektive, ist bereits im Kader der spanischen Nationalelf. Für Matthäus ist klar: „Es ist das Recht eines Vereins zu sagen, dass man für die Zukunft auf einen jüngeren Torhüter baut, der vielleicht auch weniger Gehalt kostet.“ Und Barcelona kämpft bekanntlich mit finanziellen Zwängen.
Besonders kritisch sieht Matthäus die Gemengelage mit Trainer Hansi Flick. Zwar habe Flick ter Stegen zuletzt in der Liga eingesetzt, doch letztlich entscheidet in Barcelona der Klub. „Aber der Verein hat auch seine Interessen und wenn Barca auf einen anderen Torwart baut, dann ist es für ter Stegen ein gefährliches Spiel“, warnt der Rekordnationalspieler.
Auch in der Nationalmannschaft könnte ter Stegen seinen Platz verlieren: „Bundestrainer Julian Nagelsmann kann irgendwann nicht mehr untermauen, dass er ihn aufstellt, wenn er in Barcelona nur auf der Bank sitzt.“

Ein Wechsel erscheint unausweichlich – und Matthäus bringt Galatasaray Istanbul ins Spiel: „Galatasaray hat seine Ambitionen durch die Verpflichtung von Sane untermauert und spielt in der kommenden Saison in der Champions League.“
Ein Transfer zum türkischen Meister würde ter Stegen mit Nationalmannschaftskollege Sané zusammenbringen – und ihm die nötige Spielpraxis sichern.

Alternativ sieht Matthäus auch in England Chancen: „Sechs Teams spielen dort in der Champions League – und sie alle haben nicht einen so starken Torhüter, dass sie sagen würden: ter Stegen wäre für uns keine Verstärkung.“
Sogar Manchester City nennt er: „Ich glaube, dass man dort mit Ederson nicht so zufrieden ist. Ich denke, ter Stegen könnte ganz sicher auch ein Torwart für die Citizens für die nächsten drei, vier Jahre sein.“
