Die spanische Polizei hat Medienberichten zufolge einen 19-Jährigen in Málaga wegen des Verdachts festgenommen, den Fußballer Álvaro Morata und dessen Familie mit dem Tode bedroht zu haben.
Die Drohungen seien über den persönlichen Account des Festgenommenen auf einer Social-Media-Plattform übermittelt worden, nachdem der Kapitän der Nationalelf im verlorenen Finale der Nations League in München gegen Portugal den entscheidenden Elfmeter verschossen hatte, berichteten die Sportzeitung „AS“ und die Zeitung „La Vanguardia“ unter Berufung auf eine Erklärung der Polizei.
Der Verdächtige habe noch versucht, sich zu entlasten, indem er eine Anzeige bei der Polizei aufgab, Unbekannte hätten sein Social-Media-Konto „gestohlen“, schrieb „AS“. Eine Auswertung des Handys des jungen Mannes soll aber ergeben haben, dass er der Autor der Drohungen gewesen sei.
