2019 erzielte Köln-Stürmer Luca Waldschmidt bei der U21-EM sieben Treffer – öfter traf noch niemand bei diesem Wettbewerb. Seit Jahren teilt er sich diese Bestmarke mit dem schwedischen Ex-Profi Marcus Berg (38).

Aber dieser Rekord könnte noch diese Woche von einem Stuttgarter egalisiert werden. Top-Stürmer Nick Woltemade (23) steht vor dem EM-Halbfinale gegen Frankreich am Mittwoch (21 Uhr/alle deutschen Spiele live auf Sat.1) schon bei fünf Treffern. Zwei fehlen noch bis zur Einstellung der bisherigen Bestmarke. Macht sich Waldschmidt schon Sorgen um seinen Geschichtsbuch-Eintrag?
BILD erreichte den siebenfachen Nationalspieler während seines Spanien-Urlaubs und fragte nach: Schnappt sich Woltemade den Tor-Rekord? „Ich hätte nichts dagegen, wenn er das Team mit zwei Toren zum EM-Titel schießt, dann sieben Treffer hat und wir uns den Rekord teilen“, sagt der Linksfuß mit einem Lachen.
DFB: Waldschmidt „erlaubt“ Woltemade zwei Tore
Der Kölner Angreifer (elf Tor-Beteiligungen in 30 Zweitliga-Spielen) verfolgt die EM-Auftritte unserer DFB-Elf vor dem TV. Und drückt Deutschland beide Daumen – auch Woltemade. Denn grundsätzlich würde Waldschmidt dem 1,98-Meter-Hünen den Eintrag ins Geschichtsbuch gönnen.
[–>„Die Latte liegt mit 7 Treffen natürlich hoch und ich hätte nicht gedacht, dass die so schnell fallen könnte“, gibt Waldschmidt zu und ergänzt: „Aber so wie Nick gerade drauf ist, traue ich ihm ehrlich gesagt auch acht Treffer oder mehr zu und freue mich dann für ihn.“
Sollte Woltemade tatsächlich die Tor-Bestmarke einstellen oder sogar übertreffen, wird sich Waldschmidt bei ihm persönlich melden. „Wenn er einen neuen Rekord aufstellt und die Jungs den Titel holen, kommt von mir auf alle Fälle eine Glückwunsch-Nachricht“, sagt Waldschmidt.
