Der Wechsel von Leroy Sané (29) zu Galatasaray sorgt weiterhin für Diskussionen. Nun meldet sich Mario Basler (56) zu Wort und teilt kräftig aus.
Der ehemalige Bayern-Star und heutige TV-Experte machte in seinem Podcast „Basler ballert“ seinem Unmut über den Nationalspieler Luft und sparte nicht mit Kritik.
[–>Basler: „Ich habe immer an dem Charakter Leroy Sané gezweifelt. Und das hat er mit dieser Entscheidung bestätigt. Null Charakter, nur aufs Geld fixiert.“
Und weiter: „Ich bin froh, dass Sané beim FC Bayern weg ist. Ich muss ganz klar sagen, dass das Geld, was er da gekriegt hat, viel zu viel war für die Leistung, die er gebracht hat.“
Dazu findet der Ex-Kicker: „Wenn sich ein Spieler mit 29 Jahren entscheidet, in die Türkei zu gehen – in eine Liga, die international gar nichts mehr bedeutet – dann hat das nichts mehr mit sportlichem Ehrgeiz zu tun.“

Das sind klare Worte. Nach fünf Jahren endet die Zeit von Sané beim FC Bayern. Der Offensiv-Star hat eine Vertragsverlängerung in München abgelehnt und wechselt nach der Klub-WM in den USA ablösefrei zu Galatasaray Istanbul in die Türkei. Dort hat er einen Vertrag über drei Jahre unterschrieben, inklusive Mega-Gehalt von 9 Mio. Euro netto pro Saison plus Boni.
DFB-Aus für Sané gefordert
Basler ging sogar noch einen Schritt weiter und findet: „Julian Nagelsmann darf einen Spieler, der sich für eine Liga entscheidet, die in der Welt vielleicht an 12. Stelle steht, nicht mehr einladen zur Nationalmannschaft, weil das an der internationalen Klasse vorbeigeht.“

Sané gab 2015 sein DFB-Debüt, hat bis heute 70 Länderspiele absolviert (14 Tore, 8 Assists). Im Nations-League-Halbfinale gegen Portugal (1:2) zuletzt stand er 60 Minuten auf dem Rasen, im Spiel um Platz 3 gegen Frankreich (0:2) blieb er ohne Einsatz.
Abschließend macht Basler noch eine Karriere-Prognose: „Er wird in der Versenkung verschwinden. Von dem wird keiner mehr reden. Weder in Deutschland noch im internationalen Fußball.“
