Newcastle zündet den Transfer-Turbo – 150 Millionen für drei Stars?

Die Sommerpause in der Premier League war für Newcastle United bisher erstaunlich ruhig. Doch damit könnte jetzt Schluss sein: Die Magpies wollen in diesem Transferfenster offenbar richtig angreifen – und planen gleich drei spektakuläre Deals im Gesamtwert von rund 150 Millionen Euro.

Nach Rang fünf in der abgelaufenen Saison ist Newcastle zurück in der Champions League. Die erhofften Millionen-Einnahmen aus der Königsklasse sollen direkt wieder in neue Stars investiert werden – um den Verein endgültig im europäischen Spitzenfußball zu etablieren. Laut Telegraph haben die Klub-Bosse dazu gleich drei Angebote abgegeben.

[–>Ganz oben auf der Liste steht João Pedro (23) von Brighton & Hove Albion. Für den variabel einsetzbaren Brasilianer sollen die Magpies rund 60 Millionen Euro geboten haben. Schon 2022 war Pedro Thema bei Newcastle, damals noch als Watford-Spieler. Trainer Eddie Howe (47) gilt als großer Fan des 23-Jährigen, der in der Offensive flexibel einsetzbar ist. Pedro selbst hat offenbar keine Einwände – seine Gehaltsvorstellungen sollen kein Problem sein.

Auch für Anthony Elanga (23) von Nottingham Forest liegt laut englischen Medien ein Angebot in ähnlicher Größenordnung auf dem Tisch. Der 23-jährige Schwede ist auf den Flügeln zu Hause und würde dem Angriff noch mehr Tempo geben. Doch Forest hat bereits abgewunken: Rund 45 Millionen Euro seien zu wenig, die Ablöseforderung soll bei mindestens 70 Millionen liegen.

Für Stabilität im Tor will Newcastle zusätzlich James Trafford (22) vom FC Burnley verpflichten. 30 Millionen Euro plus mögliche Boni stehen im Raum. Laut Transferexperte Fabrizio Romano hat der 22-Jährige mit dem Klub schon persönliche Eckdaten geklärt. Jetzt muss man sich nur noch mit Burnley auf eine Ablöse einigen. Trafford soll mit Stammkeeper Nick Pope (33) um den Platz zwischen den Pfosten konkurrieren – ein Luxusproblem, das Coach Howe gerne annimmt.

Die Zeit drängt: Trainer Howe hat klargemacht, dass er bis zum Trainingsauftakt am 7. Juli mindestens zwei Neuzugänge im Kader sehen will. Ein ambitioniertes Ziel, denn bei allen drei Spielern klaffen noch Lücken zwischen Angebot und Forderung. Doch die Tendenz ist klar: Newcastle will und kann tief in die Tasche greifen – und notfalls auch noch mehr investieren.
