Ganz Handball-Deutschland wird gespannt auf den Sonntag schauen.
Nach der eigentlich abgeschlossenen Saison wird nun ein Spiel nachgeholt, dass die Tabelle nachhaltig erschüttern kann. TuSEM Essen tritt noch einmal gegen den Dessau-Roßlauer HV an, gegen die das Spiel eigentlich verloren ging. Wegen eines Regelfehlers (ein Dessauer Spieler war drei Sekunden vor dem Ende zu viel auf der Platte) wurde Einspruch eingelegt.
Bedeutet nun: Verliert Dessau dieses Spiel, würde der Klub auf den vorletzten Platz abrutschen und absteigen. Der eigentliche Absteiger ASV Hamm-Westfalen wäre gerettet. Oder kommt doch noch alles anders?

Nach Informationen von SPORTBILD versuchen die Dessauer vor einem ordentlichen Gericht eine einstweilige Verfügung zu erwirken, um dieses Spiel nicht stattfinden zu lassen. Dennoch wird hinter den Kulissen weiter alles für dieses Spiel vorbereitet. Trainer Uwe Jungandreas kehrte am Freitag zur Mannschaft zurück und wird zwei Trainingseinheiten leiten. Torwart Philip Ambrosius verkürzte extra seinen Traumurlaub auf den Malediven. Komplett ist das Team trotzdem bei weitem nicht.
Handball: Spiel gegen Essen und Dessau kann am Ende wertlos sein
Doch auch bei den Essenern, die selbst in Abstiegssorgen waren und deshalb in Einspruch gegangen sind, steht die komplette Mannschaft natürlich nicht zur Verfügung. Beim Trainingsstart nach dem (verkürzten) Urlaub soll nicht einmal die Hälfte des Kaders der ersten Mannschaft anwesend gewesen sein. Für den geretteten Gastgeber geht es im Spiel allerdings „nur“ noch um den möglichen Einzug in den DHB-Pokal. Dafür würde schon ein Remis reichen. Geben werden sie trotzdem alles, um sich aufgrund des eigenen Einspruchs nichts nachsagen zu lassen.
[–>Das alles wird natürlich vom Team des ASV Hamm-Westfalen genau beobachtet. Ein Link zu den Tickets in Essen wurde veröffentlicht, um möglichst viele eigene Fans in die 80 Kilometer von Hamm entfernte Halle zu bringen, damit die Essener Mannschaft aus nachvollziehbaren Gründen unterstützt werden kann. Allerdings ging der Klub auch anderweitig in die Offensive, plädierte für die kommende Saison für eine Aufstockung der 2. Liga auf 19 Mannschaften. Das wird offenbar auch weiter verfolgt werden – unabhängig vom Ausgang des Spieles am Sonntag.
Hamm-Geschäftsführer Markus Fuchs sagte dem „Westfälischen Anzeiger“: „Wir arbeiten nach wie vor daran, eine Lösung zu finden. Unser Wunsch ist es natürlich dabei, das gemeinsam mit Dessau zu machen. Zumal sie, sollten sie es auf sportlichem Weg nicht schaffen, im gleichen Boot sitzen würden wie wir jetzt.“ Damit zielt er auf die wochenlange Unsicherheit in der Personalplanung.
