The United States is chasing an eighth CONCACAF Gold Cup title, adding to the seven championships already in the team’s history. The team that is commanded by the Argentine strategist, Mauricio Pochettino, is installed in the quarter finals, where they will face Costa Rica in a shocking match at the U.S. Bank Stadium of the city of Minneapolis.

Mauricio Pochettino: “We should have scored more against Haiti”

Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the Stars and Stripes on September 13, 2024, where his main challenge is to have a positive performance in the Gold Cup and later, prepare the team for the FIFA World Cup that will be held in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. His name has recently been linked to several clubs looking to secure the services of the South American coach.

Mauricio Pochettino’s resumé makes him a top candidate for any team

It is well known that Mauricio Pochettino is a competitive coach who tries to instill in his team that every match is important, and they should play it as so. That is why he had been a former trainer for big teams all around Europe, leaving a mark on the players he had coached and addressed.

However, Pochettino had a memorable past in the English Premier League, having previously managed two of London’s biggest clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. His most notable achievement came during his time with Spurs, where he guided the team to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final, ultimately falling short against Liverpool in Madrid.

Pochettino’s tactical philosophy and coaching style have consistently aligned with the demands of British football.

Pochettino called ‘Fake News’ reports that set him up for a Premier League team.

Reports have suggested that Brentford expressed interest in Mauricio Pochettino following the departure of Thomas Frank, who is set to take over as Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager. According to the report, Pochettino had already held a formal interview with Brentford and was preparing for a potential return to Premier League management.

However, the current USMNT coach was quick to dismiss the speculation during an interview with Jenny Taft of Fox Sports, who questioned him about his future. “The answer is no, there is no truth to the report,” Pochettino told Taft, firmly shutting down the rumors.

Journalist Jenny Taft added that Pochettino acknowledged receiving interest from other clubs but made it clear he would not entertain offers out of respect for his commitment to the U.S. National Team and their World Cup project.

For now, the next challenge for Pochettino is to face Costa Rica in the quarter finals of the Gold Cup, hoping to advance to the round and dream of a new championship. For now, the number of Pochettino with the National Team is 8 victories to 3 defeats.

‘It’s now or never’ – Leclerc issues Ferrari 2026 warning

Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc says the major change of Formula 1 regulations ahead of next season means that "it's now or never" for the Italian team to deliver a championship contending car.Having narrowly finished Constructors' Championship runners-up to McLaren in 2024, Ferrari went into 2025 hopeful of claiming a first title since 2008 but fell massively short as they ended a hugely disappointing campaign fourth in the team standings. Leclerc and his team-mate Lewis Hamilton could at least take consolation from the fact that new chassis and engine regulations for 2026 mean this year's form book should theoretically be completely irrelevant when the action resumes with the Australian Grand Prix in March. "It's tough, but at the same time, I think the whole team is hugely motivated for next year," said Leclerc after completing his seventh season at Ferrari. Please […]

4 Takeaways From the Falcons’ Win Over the Buccaneers

What should have been a statement victory for Tampa Bay's returning stars instead became another chapter in their late-season unraveling, as Mike Evans' triumphant return from injury was overshadowed by defensive breakdowns and missed opportunities. The Bucs' failure to salt away a 28-26 lead with under two minutes remaining epitomizes their current struggles, leaving them clinging to playoff hopes despite controlling their own destiny in a wide-open NFC South race.<!-->Here are my takeaways:1. Matt Boldy shines as Wild win ‘measuring stick’ game against Stars

ST. PAUL, Minn. — The Minnesota Wild play in arguably the toughest division in the NHL, with the top two teams both right ahead of them in the standings. That’s why it was so encouraging for them to beat the Dallas Stars 5-2 by controlling five-on-five play. This comes just a few weeks after a home shootout win over the best-in-the-NHL Colorado Avalanche.AdvertisementThe fact that the Wild completed the feat without several key regulars — from Mats Zuccarello to Jake Middleton, Marco Rossi and Marcus Foligno — made it more impressive.“We have belief, and we know what we’re capable of,” Matt Boldy said. “There’s never been a doubt in that. So, yeah, those teams are the measuring stick. They’re so good. So, for us to come in and find ways to win, it’s not always pretty. There’s ups and downs. Those […]
