The United States is chasing an eighth CONCACAF Gold Cup title, adding to the seven championships already in the team’s history. The team that is commanded by the Argentine strategist, Mauricio Pochettino, is installed in the quarter finals, where they will face Costa Rica in a shocking match at the U.S. Bank Stadium of the city of Minneapolis.

Mauricio Pochettino took charge of the Stars and Stripes on September 13, 2024, where his main challenge is to have a positive performance in the Gold Cup and later, prepare the team for the FIFA World Cup that will be held in Mexico, the United States, and Canada. His name has recently been linked to several clubs looking to secure the services of the South American coach.
Mauricio Pochettino’s resumé makes him a top candidate for any team
It is well known that Mauricio Pochettino is a competitive coach who tries to instill in his team that every match is important, and they should play it as so. That is why he had been a former trainer for big teams all around Europe, leaving a mark on the players he had coached and addressed.
However, Pochettino had a memorable past in the English Premier League, having previously managed two of London’s biggest clubs, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur. His most notable achievement came during his time with Spurs, where he guided the team to the 2019 UEFA Champions League final, ultimately falling short against Liverpool in Madrid.
Pochettino’s tactical philosophy and coaching style have consistently aligned with the demands of British football.

Reports have suggested that Brentford expressed interest in Mauricio Pochettino following the departure of Thomas Frank, who is set to take over as Tottenham Hotspur’s new manager. According to the report, Pochettino had already held a formal interview with Brentford and was preparing for a potential return to Premier League management.
However, the current USMNT coach was quick to dismiss the speculation during an interview with Jenny Taft of Fox Sports, who questioned him about his future. “The answer is no, there is no truth to the report,” Pochettino told Taft, firmly shutting down the rumors.
Journalist Jenny Taft added that Pochettino acknowledged receiving interest from other clubs but made it clear he would not entertain offers out of respect for his commitment to the U.S. National Team and their World Cup project.
For now, the next challenge for Pochettino is to face Costa Rica in the quarter finals of the Gold Cup, hoping to advance to the round and dream of a new championship. For now, the number of Pochettino with the National Team is 8 victories to 3 defeats.
