Dallas Cowboys could be playoff contenders…if their O-line clicks

Article arrow_drop_down

Even though last year wasn?t ‘their year’ -that’s the language Dallas Cowboys fans speak-, event though they narrowly missed the playoffs, the Cowboys are gearing up to make a serious push in the 2025 NFL seasonbut only if their ofensive line, a youthful yet promising unit, develops quickly.

With all the Micah Parsons’ contract drama, there are some positives to highlight from Jerry’s World. The Cowboys possess elite-level talent on their o-line and a coaching staff ready to maximize it. If thoes young linemen reach even half their ceiling, the team will just not be a playoff hopeful, but maybe they’ll surprise the whole NFC. They could have one of the top offensive lines in football.

The Dallas Cowboys cheerleaders dazzle with epic Thunderstruck dance on Jimmy Fallon

The Cowboys O-line, young and well coached

Dallas has prioritized the unit in the past two drafts. They’ve got three first-round picks installed in the frontline: Tyler Smith, Tyler Guyton and Tyler Booker, a trio of Tylers that bring potential at tackle and guard. At center, Cooper Beebe is already starting, even though he will be going into his second year in the league. Ther is a suggestion where all this youngsters ‘come along’ and the team will have cemented a strong foundation towards this season.

Beyond the spent draft capital, Brian Schottenheimer’s coaching approach may unlock the unit’s potential. The former offensive coordinator now head coach has already energized the locker room during OTAs, sparking a cultural shift in the Dallas. Confidence could ride high for the maulers in the trenches and help Dak Prescott’s eficiency as well as rejuvenate the running game. Essential elements for playoff success.

What needs to happen for the Cowboys O-line

Last season’s struggles on the offensive side of the ball showed why having a strong unit upfront is key to succeed in the NFL. The Cowboys socred under 21 points in several games, lacking consistent pocket protection and rushing yardage. A smoother offensive flow is needed and it will be achieved with a strengthened offensive line. Then the coaching staff needs to make the most out of the potential they have in thei hands. The scheme needs to put this athletes in the best position to elevate the whole offense.

The margins between failure and playoff runs in the NFL is narrow; it is often that o-line play decides what road a team walks on. Dallas looks to have all the ingredients: a motivate coach, high-end draft capital, an aenergized locker room, and of course, the o-line spotlight. If they ‘come together’, Cowboys fans may be looking forward to some December and Junuary games under playoff lights.

Dallas Cowboys’ projected 2025 Offensive Line

  • Left tackle: Tyler Guyton
  • Left Guard: Tyler Smith
  • Center: Cooper Beebe
  • Right Guard: Tyler Booker
  • Right Tackle: Terence Steele
