Barça begleicht endlich seine Schulden …
Die finanzielle Situation des FC Barcelona ist einer der Hauptpunkte beim Transfer-Poker um Nico Williams. Vorher müssen die Katalanen aber noch ihre Schulden bei ehemaligen Spielern begleichen. Darunter auch Fußball-Legende Lionel Messie (38), wie die spanische „Sport“ berichtet.
[–>Konkret geht es um Gehaltsnachzahlungen in Höhe von 16 Millionen Euro an den Kader von 2020. Damals waren die Blaugrana finanziell ohnehin schon klamm, dann kam auch noch die Corona-Pandemie. Mit den Spielern wurde ein Deal beschlossen – die Gehälter zahlreicher Spieler wurden gestundet.
Heißt: Die Gehälter wurden in Raten nachgezahlt. Die letzte dieser Raten ist jetzt fällig. Ursprünglich wurden 121,7 Millionen Euro an Gehältern aufgeschoben. Der Großteil ist somit schon zurückgezahlt. Damit ist das Kapitel bald beendet.
Messi bekommt jetzt die restlichen 5,96 Millionen zurückgezahlt. Insgesamt wurden 47,6 Millionen seines Gehalts gestundet. Damit führt er die Liste mit weitem Vorsprung an – gefolgt von Samuel Umtiti dem die Katalanen damals 9,9 Millionen Euro seines Gehalts schuldeten.
Bislang wurden alle Raten pünktlich überwiesen – das Kapitel ist also bald zu Ende. Eine Erleichterung für Barça. Seit Joan Laporta die Präsidentschaft von Josep Maria Bartomeu übernommen haben, erholen sie sich finanziell zwar. Trotzdem sind die Klubschulden immer ein großes Thema.

Die spanische Liga zwingt ihre Vereine inzwischen zur finanziellen Nachhaltigkeit. Mit der 1:1-Regel, nach der für jeden Euro, den Barça für Transfers ausgibt, gleichzeitig ein Euro an Einnahmen oder Gehaltseinsparungen reinkommen muss. Konsequenz: Wird die Regel nicht eingehalten, können unter anderem Spieler nicht angemeldet werden. Im Winter gab es dadurch Probleme bei Dani Olmo.
Und Williams kommt nicht, bevor er nicht die Garantie hat, dass Barça die Finanzen im Griff hat.
