Gerüchte über einen Wechsel zu Euroleague-Konkurrent Olimpia Mailand gab’s schon länger. Laut dem italienischen Journalisten Alessandro Luigi Maggi vom Portal „Sportando“ ist der Deal über einen Zwei-Jahres-Vertrag jetzt fix. Sobald Booker den Medizin-Check bestanden hat, kommt offiziell Tinte drunter.

Unter Trainer Gordon Herbert (66) blühte Booker (für manche überraschend) noch mal auf. In der Euroleague spielte er sogar die beste Saison seiner Karriere! Nach einer Knieverletzung Anfang Februar fand er dann zwar nicht ganz zu seiner überragenden Form zurück. Dennoch war der 2,05-Meter-Mann in der Final-Serie gegen Ratiopharm Ulm ein Leistungsträger.
Der italienische Traditions-Klub Mailand wird von Mode-Zar Giorgio Armani (80) gesponsert und liegt mit einem Etat von rund 39 Mio. Euro deutlich über den Bayern (30 Mio.). Booker dürfte darum mit seinem letzten großen Vertrag noch mal einen Gehaltssprung machen! Sportlich lief es dagegen für das Team von Trainer-Legende Ettore Messina (65) diese Saison schlecht: In der Königsklasse verpassten die Mailänder erneut die Play-offs, in der heimischen Liga schnappte sich Dauerrivale Virtus Bologna den Titel.
