Ein seltener Guardiola-Fehlgriff?
Der spanische Mittelfeldspieler Nico Gonzalez (23) wechselte erst im Februar für rund 60 Millionen Euro vom FC Porto ins Team von Startrainer Pep Guardiola (54). Jetzt steht er nach einem Bericht von Manchester City News offenbar schon wieder vor dem Absprung!
[–>Gonzalez kam als Rodri-Ersatz. Doch statt durchzustarten, blieb er bei den „Skyblues“ bislang völlig blass. Bei der Klub-WM bringt es der 23-Jährige auf gerade einmal 61 Einsatzminuten. In der Liga kam Gonzales elfmal zum Einsatz, erzielte dabei ein Tor.
Rodri hatte im vergangenen September eine schwere Kreuzbandverletzung am rechten Knie erlitten, mittlerweile ist er zurück auf dem Platz. Die Rodri-Ersatz-Rolle ist nicht mehr nötig.

Mit dem Transfer von Tijjani Reijnders (26), der für City bislang als Top-Neuzugang gilt, ist die Konkurrenz im Mittelfeld noch größer geworden. Der niederländische Nationalspieler überzeugt offensiv wie defensiv. Für Gonzalez bleibt dann kaum noch Platz.
Nach dem Bericht sollen Gonzalez-Berater bereits bei mehreren Klubs in Europa und auch in Saudi-Arabien angeklopft haben, um einen möglichen Wechsel ins Rollen zu bringen. Auch bei City hat man mittlerweile erkannt, dass der Spanier im aktuellen System kaum noch eine Rolle spielt. Der Klub zeigt sich offen für einen Transfer in diesem Sommer.
Dabei klang es im Winter noch ganz anders: Gonzalez galt als klassischer Guardiola-Spieler, ausgebildet in der Barca-Schule, ballsicher, taktisch diszipliniert, stark im Spielaufbau – eigentlich ein perfekter Fit. Doch: Rodri bringt all das bereits auf Weltklasse-Niveau mit, Reijnders ergänzt das Paket mit deutlich mehr Offensivpower.

Nur sechs Monate nach seinem Wechsel könnte Gonzalez Manchester also schon wieder verlassen. Die Zeichen stehen auf Abschied. Vorher wird er aber noch die restlichen Spiele mit Manchester City bei der Klub-WM absolvieren. Heute Abend (22 Uhr/Sat.1 und bei BILD.de im Liveticker) geht es im Viertelfinale gegen Borussia Dortmund.
