Bemerkenswert: Trotz 30 Punkte-Rückstand lässt sich das Team nicht hängen, hängt sich im letzten Viertel nochmal rein und zaubert sogar ein bisschen, als Steinbach nach Alley-Hoop-Anspiel von Kayil spektakulär per Dunk zum 67:90 vollendet.
40 Sekunden vor Schluss lassen beide Teams das Spiel auslaufen, greifen nicht mehr an. Und Team USA siegt deutlich mit 109:76.

Piastriho frustrovala nespravedlivá penalizace. Její výše překvapila i Verstappena
K incidentu došlo ve 21. kole závodu. Po několika kolizích, zesílení deště a zhoršení podmínek na trati se ředitelství závodu rozhodlo pro výjezd safety caru. Za ním jel jako první Piastri, druhý byl Max Verstappen z Red Bullu a třetí Piastriho týmový kolega Lando Norris.Australský lídr závodu a také celého šampionátu F1 po oznámeném konci jízdy za bezpečnostním vozem prudce zabrzdil. Podle zprávy traťových komisařů šlo o zpomalení z 218 km/h na 52 km/h. Navíc na mokré trati a za snížené viditelnosti.Verstappen tak tak zvládl zareagovat a v poslední chvíli uhnout, aby zabránil kolizi. Do vysílačky hned hlásil svou nespokojenost s Piastriho počínáním.Pilot McLarenu za manévr dostal desetisekundovou penalizaci, jíž si vybral pár kol před koncem závodu při zastávce v boxech.
