There’s no doubt that Josh Allen is the present and future of the Buffalo Bills, but in such a tough league-especially due to injuries-it’s always important to have solid backup, and it seems that the team led by Sean McDermott has that with the return of Mitchell Trubisky, the second overall pick by the Chicago Bears in the 2017 draft.

Josh Allen has a streak of 104 consecutive regular-season starts, so during the Allen era, they haven’t really needed a backup. Still, anything can happen. Every day in the NFL is a different story, and one injury can change the fate of any team.
The Wyoming product has become one of the NFL’s brightest stars, especially for how he’s transformed the image of the Buffalo Bills. Except for his rookie season, he’s led the team to the playoffs every year, but he still carries one major debt: taking the Bills to the Super Bowl for the first time since 1993.

Mitchell Trubisky is the leading candidate to be Josh Allen’s backup
While Josh Allen is clearly the face of the franchise, right now the Bills’ front office is focused on fostering competition throughout the roster. For now, Mitchell Trubisky is competing with Mike White for the backup spot, but it seems the former Pittsburgh quarterback will win the battle without much trouble.
“We don’t lock in many spots here. Obviously, we know number 17 (Josh Allen) is locked in, but every year, you basically have to come in and earn your job. I know Mitch knows that. He doesn’t expect anything different,”said Bills general manager Brandon Beane.
Trubisky didn’t have much success with the Steelers. However, believe it or not, the 2017 No. 2 overall pick actually has a winning record as a starter, with 31 wins and 26 losses. He also went 11-3 in 2018, a season that earned him a Pro Bowl selection and a playoff appearance with the Chicago Bears.
On the other hand, Trubisky has shown respect for Allen’s position as the team leader. It also seems they have a good relationship-reports say that the North Carolina alum was present at Josh Allen and Hailee Steinfeld’s prestigious wedding event.

Saints agree to 10-year extension to remain in New Orleans through 2035
The New Orleans Saints aren't going anywhere. On Thursday, the Saints announced that they had signed a 10-year lease extension to continue to play at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans through 2035. The Saints have been playing in the Superdome since 1975, and team owner Gayle Benson revealed that she had been working on this deal with the city for quite some time. "Discussions about this agreement have spanned two administrations, a global pandemic and Hurricane Ida," Benson said, via the Saints' official website. "I am totally happy that we will be sending a signed copy of this agreement to the NFL for their approval."We have entered into numerous negotiations with the state, for as far back as I can recall.
