Despite not having been serious contenders in recent years, the Las Vegas Raiders remain one of the most followed teams in the NFL. Their last truly competitive phase dates back to the Derek Carr era. However, since the Fresno State product left, the results have been very poor.

After two challenging seasons under the leadership of Antonio Pierce, management made a major decision by appointing Pete Carroll as the new head coach. Carroll, known for his intensity and motivational skills, brings a winning background: he was a Super Bowl champion with the Seahawks.
Pete Carroll brought in a trusted man, Geno Smith, to be his quarterback. During his three years as a starter with the Seahawks, Smith started 83 games, threw for 19,143 yards, 105 touchdown passes, and 72 interceptions, with a passer rating of 88.0. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl in the 2022 season.

The Raiders’ offense aims to be exciting
Pete Carroll is a very dynamic head coach. With the addition of Geno Smith – a fast and dynamic quarterback – and rookie Ashton Jeanty in the ground game, the offense promises to be fun to watch.
All the changes aimed at shifting the organization’s mindset have been immediately implemented by Pete Carroll, and that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the players. Offensive lineman Kolton Miller shared his thoughts on the transformation.
“I love it. The pieces we’ve added this offseason, the energy, the direction… Pete [Carroll] really nailed the way he came in and how he’s doing things, and the guys are buying in and applying it. It’s been a lot of fun, and we’ve made a ton of progress – probably one of the most productive OTAs I’ve been part of. It’s not easy; we’re going full speed. But yeah, it’s been great, and I’m excited about where we’re headed,” said Miller.
Miller, a first-round pick by the Raiders in 2018, has seen it all with the franchise – quarterback changes, city relocations, coaching changes, and much more. With the arrival of Carroll, along with Chip Kelly as offensive coordinator, it seems like the team is finally headed in the right direction.
“Right now, with OTAs, it’s all about execution. We’ve got a lot of plays, and Chip [Kelly] is installing a lot of stuff. And the defense is getting looks almost like in real games, so the most important thing is execution, communication, and just refining our technique every day,” Miller added.
It won’t be easy, considering the Raiders are in a division where every team is a playoff contender – the Chiefs, Chargers, and Broncos. The AFC West is heating up.
