Schafft Real den Sieg und den Einzug ins Finale? Einer, der noch nicht ganz von den Stärken der Mannschaft von Trainer Xabi Alonso (43) überzeugt ist, spielte früher selbst für Real. In 465 Pflichtspielen (28 Tore) stand Toni Kroos (35) für Madrid auf dem Platz, gewann sechsmal die Champions League.
Jetzt sagte Kroos was seinem Ex-Klub zum ganz großen Erfolg noch fehlt. Im Interview mit der italienischen Zeitung der „Gazzetta dello Sport“ äußerte sich Kroos: „Ihnen fehlt immer noch ein Spieler wie ich, danach suchen sie weiterhin.“
[–>Kroos hatte seine Karriere im Sommer 2024 beendet, zuvor zehn Jahre lang bei Real im Mittelfeld das Spiel bestimmt. Nun erklärt der Weltmeister von 2014: „Es gibt nicht viele solche Spieler – und die, die es gibt, sind nicht so leicht zu bekommen.“
Hintergrund: Zuletzt war Real am spanischen Nationalspieler Martin Zubimendi (26) von Real Sociedad dran. Doch der zentrale Mittelfeldspieler entschied sich dann für einen Wechsel in die Premier League zum FC Arsenal.
Für Zubimendi ist der Transfer „ein riesiger Moment in meiner Karriere. Es ist der Wechsel, den ich wollte – und auf den ich hingearbeitet habe. Sobald man hier ankommt, spürt man, wie groß dieser Klub und dieses Team sind“, erklärte er.
Bei Real Madrid hatte Alonso als Trainer im Sommer übernommen. Um seine Arbeit bereits zu bewerten, sei es „noch zu früh“, so Kroos. „Es braucht Zeit, um zu bewerten, was er verändert hat und wie er seine Ideen implementierten konnte. Ich bin sicher, dass Xabi weiß, welche Dinge er anpassen muss – denn es gibt Dinge, die verändert werden müssen. Mit so viel Qualität muss es einfach gut laufen“, ist Kroos sich sicher.
