Berlin und die Formel E gehören zusammen.
Seit Saison 1 gastiert die Formel E in Berlin. Und die FIA-Formel-E-Weltmeisterschaft kommt auch im Sommer 2025 wieder in die Hauptstadt. Das Rennwochenende findet am 12. und 13. Juli statt.
Vor den E-Prixs sagt Formel-E-Mitbegründer Alberto Longo zu SPORT BILD: „Deutschland ist ein Markt für uns, in dem wir sein müssen und in dem wir gerne sein wollen. Wir haben viele wichtige Partner, die dort ansässig sind. Berlin ist eine ikonische Stadt und für die Formel E der perfect fit.“
Und weiter: „Die Deutschen haben eine große Leidenschaft für den Motorsport und ein großes Interesse an Technik. Deshalb wird die Formel E immer ein Rennen in Deutschland austragen, wenn es die Möglichkeit gibt.“
[–>Longo bekennt sich als großer Deutschland-Fan: „Ich liebe das Essen, ich liebe die Atmosphäre, ich liebe es, wie viel die Fans über Motorsport wissen. Wir kommen jetzt seit über 10 Jahren nach Berlin und es ist jedes Mal fantastisch.“
Interessant: Der zweite Berlin E-Prix wurde auf einem Stadtkurs rund um den Strausberger Platz gefahren. Seit 2017 startet die Serie wieder auf dem Vorfeld des ehemaligen Flughafens in Tempelhof.
Longo: „Tempelhof bietet eine große Flexibilität in Bezug auf die Gestaltung der Strecke und auch bei der Veranstaltung, es ist eine wirklich große Fläche mit den Hangars des alten Flughafens und dem Park. Wir sind seit der ersten Saison stark gewachsen und das Tempelhofer Feld erlaubt uns, uns zu entwickeln und zu verändern.“

Außerdem sei man in der Stadt und nahe bei den Menschen – „aber anders als im Stadtzentrum auf der Straße können wir dort frei arbeiten, ohne die Anwohner zu stören.“
