Mateo Retegui (26) erzielte in der vergangenen Saison 25 Buden in Italien, ballerte sich damit zum „Capocannoniere“, dem Torschützenkönig der Serie A. Jetzt steht der Stürmer vor seinem Abschied bei Atalanta Bergamo.
Wie Transferexperte Fabrizio Romano und Medien in Italien berichten, wechselt der gebürtige Argentinier zu Al-Qadsiah FC nach Saudi-Arabien. Ein Transfer, für den eine Wahnsinns-Kohle über den Tisch gehen wird.

Bei Al-Qadsiah stehen aktuell Fußballgrößen wie der Ex-Real-Star Nacho Fernández, Belgien-Keeper Koen Casteels und Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang unter Vertrag. Allerdings wird der ehemalige Dortmund-Stürmer mit einer Rückkehr zu Olympique Marseille in Verbindung gebracht. Sein Abschied würde damit Platz für Retegui schaffen, der dann nur zwei Jahre in der italienischen Serie A gespielt hat.

Der Torjäger stammt ursprünglich aus Argentinien und verbrachte dort seine gesamte Laufbahn, bis er im Sommer 2023 von Tigre zum CFC Genua wechselte. Weil er einen italienischen Großvater hat, holte ihn der damalige Nationaltrainer Roberto Mancini in die Squadra Azzurra, mittlerweile kommt Retegui auf 20 Einsätze für die Nationalelf Italiens, erzielte dabei sechs Tore.
