Wie mehrere englische Medien berichten, will der schwedische Topstürmer den Klub im Sommer verlassen. Transfer-Experte Fabrizio Romano bestätigt: „Alexander Isak hat dem Verein klargemacht, dass er gehen will.“ Und nicht irgendein Klub klopft an – sondern der frisch gebackene Premier-League-Champion Liverpool.

Die „Reds“ haben unter Trainer Arne Slot bereits groß aufgerüstet: Florian Wirtz, Jeremie Frimpong, Milos Kerkez und Hugo Ekitike sind schon da. Jetzt fehlt noch der Königstransfer im Sturm – und der soll Isak heißen. Laut „Daily Mail“ bereitet Liverpool ein Rekordangebot vor, das am Ende bei 177 Millionen Euro landen könnte!

Doch der Wechselwunsch kommt nicht aus dem Nichts. Laut „Daily Mail“ war Isak schon im vergangenen Sommer verärgert, als ihm eine zugesagte Gehaltserhöhung verweigert wurde. Damals noch unter Sportdirektor Paul Mitchell – der ist inzwischen weg, der Frust aber ist offenbar geblieben.
Isak sei „wütend“ gewesen. Auch Teamkollegen sollen bemerkt haben, dass sich der Stürmer zunehmend innerlich verabschiedet hatte. Beim Auswärtsspiel gegen Arsenal gegen Ende der vergangenen Saison fehlte er mit angeblicher „Muskelmüdigkeit“ – was intern für Stirnrunzeln sorgte.
Das Zerwürfnis mit Isak soll u. a. dazu geführt haben, dass Newcastle-Trainer Eddie Howe von „Unruhe in der Kabine“ sprach.

Zwar möchte Newcastle den 25-Jährigen am liebsten halten. Doch wie die „Mail“ schreibt, wissen die Verantwortlichen: „Es gibt einen richtigen Zeitpunkt, um einen Spieler zu verkaufen – und dieser Zeitpunkt könnte jetzt sein.“
Klar ist: Isak will nicht nur Champions League spielen – er will sie gewinnen. Und Liverpool kann ihm genau das bieten.
