Stephanie White, the Indiana Fever’s coach, shows her true colors with newcomer Chloe Bibby

The Indiana Fever (14-12) won 93-78, securing their third consecutive victory against the Chicago Sky (7-18).

And although Sky tried to resist, it wasn’t enough and they suffered their fifth consecutive defeat.

Caitlin Clark gets tons of love from Chicago fans in front of Angel Reese

Rachel Banham scored 26 points and Kamilla Cardoso 12, but Fever was superior. Kelsey Mitchell continued to shine and with 35 points and six assists, she was the top scorer of the game. In addition, this game was her ninth game with more than 30 points in the WNBA, and she reached 200 steals.

Meanwhile, another Indiana player who did not go unnoticed was the team’s newcomer.

The new star on the Fever

With Caitlin Clark out due to a groin injury, the arrival of a reinforcement was as necessary as it was imminent. Chloe Bibby came to the rescue on Friday with a seven-day contract to help them overcome this situation.

The Australian forward took to the court wearing Fever colors in the victory over Sky, and in 11 minutes of action, she contributed 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 block, in addition to making 2 of 4 three-pointers.

And the 27-year-old not only caught the eye of the crowd, but also that of her coach Stephanie White. In a post-game press conference, the 48-year-old admitted that she was surprised by both her offense and her defense:

She did a really good job of understanding offense, understanding where she was going to get hers, and then staying shot-ready. I like how she was defensively too, she didn’t allow any easy entry passes.

In the same vein, White said that having Chloe on the roster would have made the Fever’s game easier and changed it:

She just gives us a different look than any of our other post players. Sometimes you’ll see us go small with Sophie (Cunningham) and Lexie (Hull) at the four. With Chloe on our roster right now, we don’t have to do that. She has really good size, and she has that same ability to stretch the floor.

Chloe wants to make her mark

Bibby has already played in five games with the Golden State Valkyries before being released on June 30. There, she averaged 6.4 points and 2.8 rebounds per game.

In addition, Chloe won the gold medal with the Australia Opals, her national team, at the 2025 FIBA Women’s World Cup in Asia against Japan (88-79).

Indiana Fever is the second team she has played for this season, and she has left no doubt about her skill and talent. Now, she will continue her journey against the Phoenix Mercury on Wednesday, July 30, at home at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

January Transfer Window: Biggest Winners And Losers

The 2026 winter window closed on Monday, with Jorgen Strand Larsen's $66 million move from Wolves to Crystal Palace the biggest deal done on deadline day. Truth be told, though, it was a pretty tame end to what's been a fairly quiet month in the transfer market. Indeed, aside from Manchester City, most of Europe's top teams did next-to-no mid-season business, while there was very little movement at all in France, Germany or Spain - which wasn't that surprising, given January is traditionally a tough time to find good value for money. However, there was no shortage of talking points over the past four weeks, as even the inactivity was a major topic of debate for several sets of supporters desperate to see their respective clubs strengthen their playing squads, while there were also some proposed transfers that fell through in […]
