A new era has begun for the New York Giants after the complicated situation involving Daniel Jones, who once excited fans but ultimately couldn’t take off. Aside from the 2022 season, in which he led the team to the playoffs with one win included, not much happened with the quarterback who is now with the Indianapolis Colts.
Cam Skattebo, Jaxson Dart’s new weapon, looks scary to the rest of the NFL
For this season, Joe Schoen remains as general manager and Brian Daboll continues as head coach, but their jobs are at risk and time is not on their side. If they don’t get immediate results, they might not even make it to the end of the season. Everything now rests in the hands of Russell Wilson, who will be the Giants’ starting quarterback to begin the season.
In the Draft, they selected Jaxson Dart in the first round – the quarterback from Ole Miss. The kid has talent, but he’s not ready to play in the NFL just yet. And who better to learn from than a quarterback who has won a Super Bowl and had standout moments in the league like Russell Wilson?
Jalin Hyatt is impressed by Russell Wilson’s work
Jalin Hyatt, a receiver out of the University of Tennessee, was selected in the third round of the 2023 draft. One of his key strengths is his speed, but so far with the Giants, he hasn’t been able to break out and his production has steadily declined – ending with disappointing numbers in 2024.
As a rookie, he had 23 receptions for 373 yards, but dropped to just 8 receptions for 62 yards last season. However, with Russell Wilson now leading the offense, there’s a strong possibility that Hyatt’s production could increase in what will be a pivotal year for him.
“I’m glad that the things I went through happened early in my career, so I could learn from them and bounce back going into my third year,” Hyatt said on the Locked On Giants podcast. “Russ called me and told me he had watched all my film and was excited to be here and connect with me.”
Clearly, Malik Nabers is the Giants’ top receiver and rising star, but Jalin Hyatt has a lot of talent, and with Russell Wilson’s arm, he could become the same kind of standout receiver he once was at the University of Tennessee.
