Der aufsehenerregende Wechsel von Handball-Nationalspieler Julian Köster (25) innerhalb der Daikin Handball-Bundesliga vom VfL Gummersbach zum THW Kiel ist für den Sommer 2026 längst eingetütet und verkündet.
Jetzt gibt es aber ein ganz neues Tuschel-Thema in der besten Liga der Welt. Wieder mittendrin der Ostsee-Riese und der deutsche Altmeister.

Handball: Was läuft da mit Kiel und diesem Erfolgs-Duo?
Sogar führende Spielerberater im Handball rätseln und stellen sich bei der Vermittlung ihrer Klienten viele Fragen. Das Mega-Gerücht: Außer Köster sollen auch Gummersbachs Geschäftsführer Christoph Schindler (41) und VfL-Trainer Gudjon Valur Sigurdsson (45) im Sommer 2026 zu den Kielern stoßen und dann das aktuelle Kieler Führungs-Duo Filip Jicha (43, Trainer) und Viktor Szilagyi (46, Geschäftsführer) ablösen. Die Kieler hatten letzte Saison zum zweiten Mal in Folge das Ziel Champions League verpasst.
Dazu schwappen passende Gerüchte aus Kroatien nach Deutschland. Auf dem Balkan macht die Information die Runde, dass Denis Spoljaric (45) angeblich im Sommer 2026 in Gummersbach einsteigen soll.
Spoljaric spielte von 2010 bis 2016 bei den Füchsen Berlin im Rückraum, aktuell ist er Co-Trainer von Dagur Sigurdsson (52) bei der kroatischen Nationalmannschaft.
[–>Sigurdsson hatte im November 2024 bis 30. Juni 2027 in Gummersbach verlängert. Ein Wechsel des ehemaligen Nationalspielers Islands wäre ablösepflichtig. Schindler wurde nach seiner Profi-Karriere zum Geschäftsführer des VfL Gummersbach.
Eine Vertragsdauer wurde nie kommuniziert, nach Informationen von SPORT BILD hat Schindler ein unbefristetes Arbeitspapier und zuletzt mehrere hoch dotierte Angebote aus der freien Wirtschaft abgelehnt. Schindlers erfolgreicher Wieder-Aufbau des VfL Gummersbach nach sportlich und finanziell harten Jahren hat sich herumgesprochen.
SPORT BILD hakte bei Schindler nach, Gummersbachs Geschäftsführer ausweichend: „Zu Spekulationen oder Vertragsinhalten habe ich nie öffentlich Stellung bezogen, das behalte ich so bei.“
Zuletzt gab es rund um den THW Kiel Gerüchte, in denen Trainer Talant Dujshebaev (58) und sein Sohn Alex (32) von Polens Top-Klub Kielce mit dem Ostsee-Klub in Verbindung gebracht wurden.
