Der frühere Top-Torwart sagt im Interview mit SPORT BILD, warum Stuttgarts Alexander Nübel für ihn der Favorit auf die Nachfolge von Manuel Neuer als künftige Nummer eins beim FC Bayern ist. SPORT BILD: Marc-André ter Stegen spielt beim FC Barcelona keine Rolle mehr. Seine frustrierende Situation schlägt hohe Wellen. Falls der 33-Jährige seinen Vertrag, der bis 2028 läuft, wirklich aussitzt – kann er dann noch die Nummer eins im deutschen Tor bleiben?

Timo Hildebrand (46): Aus meiner Sicht ist das unmöglich. Ich denke nicht, dass es gut geht, wenn die deutsche Nummer eins im Verein nicht regelmäßig spielt. Der Rhythmus, die Spielpraxis fehlen. Das sind entscheidende Faktoren, um seine ganze Klasse zu zeigen.

Ist ter Stegen nach seiner Verletzung überhaupt noch gut genug für den Stammplatz im deutschen Tor?

Auf jeden Fall! Ter Stegen hat die Qualität, noch ein paar Jahre die Nummer eins zu sein. Man muss bedenken, dass er einige Jahre lang unangefochten war bei Barca, obwohl er anfangs dort nicht als Nummer 1 gesetzt war. Warum sollte er nach seiner schweren Verletzung nicht wieder zu alter Stärke finden, wie es zum Beispiel auch Manuel Neuer geschafft hat?

Wer könnte ter Stegen beerben?

Ich sehe hinter ihm einen offenen Dreikampf zwischen Oliver Baumann, Alex Nübel und Kevin Trapp.

Was ist mit Noah Atubolu, der gerade eine starke EM für die U21 gespielt hat?

Er kann dazustoßen. Ich traue ihm zu, irgendwann auch bei der A-Nationalmannschaft die Nummer eins zu werden. Atubolu sammelt mit dem SC Freiburg in der neuen Saison internationale Erfahrung. Das lässt ihn reifen. Ich freue mich sehr für ihn, da er am Anfang seiner Bundesliga-Zeit viel Kritik einstecken musste. Das war total unfair und unnötig. Es ist normal, dass ein Talent Eingewöhnungszeit in der Bundesliga braucht. Er ist ein sehr ausgeglichener Torhüter.

Alexander Nübel spielt seine letzte Leihsaison bei Ihrem Ex-Klub VfB Stuttgart. Danach kehrt er laut Vertrag zu Bayern zurück und kämpft dann mit Jonas Urbig um die Nachfolge von Manuel Neuer. Wer ist Favorit?

Urbig ist ein Riesentalent und hat Manu gut vertreten. Aber es ist eine andere Hausnummer, wenn du als Nummer eins des FC Bayern in die Saison gehst. Nübel hat Vorteile aufgrund seiner Erfahrung in der Bundesliga, in der Champions League und wird auch jetzt mit Stuttgart in Europa unterwegs sein. Der VfB tut ihm gut. Er hat wieder richtig Fuß gefasst in der Bundesliga, aber was in einem Jahr sein wird, steht noch in den Sternen.

Klares Ja. Nick ist schon gut genug für die Bayern. Ich kann verstehen, wenn ein Spieler sich sagt: „Hey, die Chance zu Bayern zu wechseln muss ich nutzen. Ich verdiene ein Vielfaches, habe die Chance, jedes Jahr Meister zu werden und in der Champions League ganz weit zu kommen.” Nick verhält sich gut, indem er sich öffentlich zurückhält. Ich finde aber auch die Haltung der VfB-Verantwortlichen richtig und bin gespannt, was im Transferfenster noch passieren wird.

Die Stuttgarter haben die Angebote des FC Bayern bisher abgelehnt.

Es ist doch vollkommen nachvollziehbar, dass sie für diesen Spieler eine hohe Ablösesumme generieren und ihn am liebsten noch behalten wollen. Mich würde es auch freuen, da er ein überragender Spieler und Typ ist. Eine weitere Saison beim VfB würde ihm sicher guttun und weiter reifen lassen. Ich denke, er würde weder medial noch aus Fan-Sicht keinen Schaden davontragen, wenn er am Ende bleiben würde.
