Nach der internen Einigung mit dem FC Barcelona hat unser Nationaltorwart vor dem traditionellen Spiel um die Joan-Gamper-Trophäe gegen Italien-Klub Como 1907 persönliche Worte an die Fans gerichtet – und dabei betont: Die Wogen sind (vorerst) geglättet!
Ter Stegen: „Persönlich denke ich, dass es wichtig war, den Streit zwischen mir und dem Verein beizulegen – und jetzt ist es an der Zeit, nach vorne zu blicken.“

Ter Stegen: „Wir haben eine sehr anspruchsvolle Spielzeit vor uns. Es sind nur noch wenige Tage, und wir arbeiten hart daran, viele Erfolge zu erzielen.“
Interessant: Laut Medienberichten wurde der Torhüter bei der Ausarbeitung seiner Ansprache vom Verein unterstützt.

Das Spiel um die Joan-Gamper-Trophäe dient Barcelona traditionell dazu, die Mannschaft offiziell vorzustellen – inklusive emotionaler Ansprachen des Spielführers. Für ter Stegen, der den Kapitänsposten nach dem Zoff mit dem Klub zurückerhalten hat, ist es ein besonders bedeutender Moment.
Neben seinen persönlichen Worten richtete der Deutsche auch einen besonderen Dank an den neuen Trainer Hansi Flick (60).

Sportlich ein bedeutender Schritt für die Katalanen: Denn sollte La Liga – wie der Verein – davon ausgehen, dass ter Stegen mindestens vier Monate fehlen wird, darf Barça Teile seines Gehalts für einen Ersatzspieler nutzen. Nur so kann der Verein im Rahmen der spanischen Financial-Fairplay-Regeln rechtzeitig zum Saisonstart den Neuzugang Joan García (24) registrieren.
Der Torwart kam für rund 25 Millionen Euro von Espanyol – und soll die neue Nummer eins werden, solange ter Stegen ausfällt.
