Dieser Transfer sorgte für Aufsehen: Junioren-Nationalspieler Jan-Christian Schmidt (20) wechselt 2026 von Zweitligist Bayer Dormagen in die Handball-Bundesliga zum HSV Hamburg. Der Kreisläufer hat in Hamburg einen Vertrag bis 2029 unterschrieben.
Allerdings wird er zunächst noch einmal einen Umweg über den Bergischen HC, der gerade wieder in die Bundesliga zurückkam, nehmen. Dormagen und der BHC haben sich darauf verständigt, dass Schmidt ein Zweitspielrecht für den Bergischen HC erhält.

Im Gegenzug wird der ehemalige TSV-Spieler Sören Steinhaus (21) ein Zweitspielrecht für den Zweitligisten aus Dormagen bekommen. „Sören kennt unseren Verein und unsere Spielweise sehr gut. Daher freuen wir uns, dass er im Rahmen dieser Kooperation eine Option für den Notfall sein wird“, so TSV-Geschäftsführer Björn Barthel.
