Com os confrontos definidos das quartas de final da Copa do Brasil, Ulisses Costa e demais comentaristas do ‘Jogo Aberto’ elegeram a equipe que ficará com o título. Na base do palpite, o locutor esportivo demonstrou muito otimismo em relação ao Corinthians, que despachou na fase anterior seu maior rival, vencendo as duas partidas.

Vivo na Copa do Brasil, o Corinthians, por sua vez, tem derrapado no Campeonato Brasileiro. Depois de um bom início de primeiro turno, o Timão passou a acumular resultados ruins e hoje começa a ver de perto a temida zona de rebaixamento. Apesar de cinco pontos de distância, fato é que o alvinegro tem jogos a mais que a maioria das equipes que estão atrás.
Nas últimas cinco partidas disputadas, o Corinthians não venceu nenhuma. São três empates e duas derrotas do clube do Parque São Jorge. De acordo com números da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais, o Timão tem 17% de chances de ser rebaixado para a Série B.
“Precisamos trabalhar muito em razão disso e tomarmos uma atitude. Temos que tomar consciência sobre o que está nos faltando. A maneira como tudo aconteceu”, disse Dorival, que descartou qualquer relaxamento pós-vitória sobre o Palmeiras.

O Corinthians volta a campo no sábado (16) contra o Bahia, às 21h (de Brasília), na Neo Química Arena, na abertura do segundo turno do Campeonato Brasileiro. Para esta partida, Dorival não poderá contar com Cacá, Angileri e Romero, todos suspensos. Lesionados, Depay e Carillo também ficam de fora.
