A seleção masculina de vôlei já iniciou a sua preparação para o Campeonato Mundial, principal torneio disputado pelo Brasil nesta temporada. Nos últimos dias, o técnico Bernardinho convocou 16 atletas para participar de alguns treinamentos, visando o torneio que irá acontecer entre os dias 12 e 28 de setembro, nas Filipinas.
Porém, o experiente treinador ganhou um problema, já que o levantador Fernando Cachopa, um dos destaques da equipe na última VNL, sofreu uma lesão na coxa e terá que ficar de fora dos treinamentos. Com isso, passa a ser dúvida para a disputa do Mundial. A lesão aconteceu durante uma atividade no CT de Saquarema, no Rio de Janeiro.
Para o seu lugar, o treinador convocou Rhendrick, que é o novo reforço do Praia Clube para a temporada 2024/25. O levantador foi o destaque do Joinville em 2024 e já conhece bem como é jogar na seleção. Recentemente, foi convocado por Bernardinho para a primeira semana da Liga das Nações (VNL), que aconteceu no Maracanãzinho, mas não chegou a entrar em quadra.

O Bernardinho chamou 16 atletas para participar dos treinamentos visando o Mundial, mas não é uma lista final para a competição. Entre os convocados, estão dois do time Sub-23 do Brasil, que serão observados mais de perto pelo treinador: Maicon e Thiery. Veja a lista atualizada:

Brasil no Campeonato Mundial de Vôlei
Após o terceiro lugar na Liga das Nações, o Brasil vai disputar o Campeonato Mundial como um dos candidatos ao título, embora não seja o favorito. A seleção masculina de vôlei vai em busca do tetracampeonato, após ter vencido em 2002, 2006 e 2010. Na última edição, foi terceiro lugar, vencendo o bronze em cima da Eslovênia.
No Mundial de vôlei masculino, a nossa seleção está no grupo H, junto com Sérvia, República Tcheca e China. A estreia será no dia 14 de setembro, às 10h (de Brasília), diante dos chineses. No dia seguinte, às 23h, enfrenta a República Tcheca. Por fim, encerra a primeira fase diante da Sérvia, no dia 17, no mesmo horário. Vale destacar que os dois primeiros avançam às oitavas de final.
