The Jacksonville Jaguars are heading into the final week of the preseason after facing the New Orleans Saints in their second preseason game, which ended in a 17-17 tie.
However, both the team and the fans missed Travis Hunter, who missed Jacksonville’s last practice last week and the game against the Saints. Liam Coen, his coach, considered this option a precautionary measure due to an upper-body injury.

Although the two-way player was present for the team’s first game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, where he finished with two receptions for nine yards, he had to sit out due to his discomfort.
However, the good news for the Jaguars is that “the unicorn” returned to the team’s training camp on Tuesday, August 19.
Hunter is back
In a video shared by Jaguars reporter Demetrius Harvey, Hunter is seen participating in individual and team drills, running routes and catching passes, although they were not wearing protective gear.
Just as he did with the Colorado Buffaloes under Deion Sanders, the Heisman Trophy winner is working on his versatility, both as a wide receiver and defensive back.
This brings a breath of fresh air to fans and gets them excited. Based on the footage, it looks like he could be available for Jacksonville’s final preseason game against the Miami Dolphins on Saturday, August 23, at Hard Rock Stadium.
In addition, the team has big plans for Hunter and is constantly preparing him for the dual role that he and the team are aiming for.
This was confirmed by his teammate, Brian Thomas Jr., on The Pivot Podcast: “When he’s out there on defense, I’m talking to the receivers, ‘Make sure you all go at him. Don’t go off because he’s just him. Still push on him because at the end of the day, this is what he wants to do.’ He takes on the challenge every time, so he’s going out there and making plays whether it’s on offense, defense… Me selfishly, I want him more on the offensive side,” said the wide receiver.
Meanwhile, Hunter has not been confirmed for the final preseason game. Jacksonville will kick off the regular season against the Carolina Panthers on September 7.
