Julian Draxler fichó por el PSG en el mercado de invierno de 2016. Tenía 23 años, llegaba procedente del Wolfsburgo y el equipo parisino pagó unos 40 millones de euros más extras. Se abría una nueva y prometedora etapa para él. Tras cinco años en el equipo, el 1 de septiembre de 2022 fue cedido una temporada al Benfica y, posteriormente, vendido en 2023 al Al-Ahli de Qatar, donde aún sigue. Ahora, en una entrevista con Le Parisien, recuerda su etapa, con luces y sombras, en el equipo galo.
Si juegas en el PSG, es bastante difícil tener una vida normal
“Amo París, siempre me ha encantado. Pero hacia el final, tuvimos algunos problemas con un intento de robo que ocurrió justo antes de que fichara por Qatar. Miré a mi esposa y le dije: ‘Creo que tenemos que ir a Qatar’. Fue ese pequeño detalle extra lo que me convenció para irme. No siempre era fácil caminar por París con mi hijo pequeño, me veía obligado a esconderme con una gorra. No soy Neymar, pero si juegas en el PSG, es bastante difícil tener una vida normal. En Qatar, es lo contrario, puedo moverme sin sentir que la gente sigue cada uno de mis movimientos. A nivel humano, se siente realmente bien”, asegura en el diario galo.

De su etapa en el PSG, destaca, sobre todo, el comienzo. “Los primeros seis meses fueron quizás los mejores de mi vida. Fue magnífico. Se complicó con la llegada de Neymar y Mbappé. Estos dos fichajes cambiaron muchas cosas para mí. Fue un placer jugar con ellos. Cuando llegó Neymar… ¡Nunca había visto algo así en mi vida, fue increíble! Y por eso también me quedé el mayor tiempo posible. Quería ver el nivel, cómo evolucionaría Kylian. Estar en el campo con jugadores así es un verdadero placer, es el sueño de todos”, dice en Le Parisien.
El PSG es un club un poco loco, como yo
Draxler sólo tiene palabras de elogio para el club parisino. “Me encantaba ese club. El PSG es un club un poco loco, como yo. Cuando piensas que ficharon a Neymar por 222 millones de euros y tres semanas después a Mbappé por 180… ¡Siempre hay algo nuevo en este club, historias! En el PSG nunca te aburres. Me sentí bien en París, orgulloso de vestir la camiseta de este gran club y de decir: ‘Juego en el PSG’. Me gustó cómo jugábamos al fútbol, nos divertíamos en el campo. Es un club magnífico”, termina Draxler.
