Nike’s latest commercial featuring Jalen Brunson and Natalia Bryant, daughter of the late Kobe Bryant, has generated widespread attention online as fans react warmly as part of an ad for the upcoming release of the Kobe 3 Protro “Halo.”
The pair enjoy a playful dynamic as the New York Knicks guard and 22-year-old University of Southern California cum laude honor her father’s lasting impact on basketball and sneaker culture.

The one-minute spot, released Tuesday, August 19 is part of Nike’s annual campaign dedicated to Kobe and features a scene set in an upscale jewelry store run by Big Time Tommie, as the commercial opens with Brunson browsing casually.
When shown a pair of sneakers, he dismisses them without much thought. His demeanor shifts, however, when he notices Natalia working on a pair of all-white Kobe 3 Protros.
With a grin, Brunson reaches for them, only for the Film & TV Production graduate to pull the shoes away before he can get too close. The Kobe 3 Protro “Halo” is the latest model in a line that reimagines Kobe Bryant’s 2007 design.
Nike has framed the release as both a modern update and a tribute, and the timing also holds symbolic weight as the sneakers will officially launch on August 23, aligning with what would have been Kobe’s 47th birthday.
The brand promoted the release with a cryptic 10-second voicemail teaser ahead of the full commercial, stoking anticipation among sneaker fans. Natalia Bryant also posted promotional images of the shoes on Instagram, dressed in an all-white outfit that matched the sneakers.
Brunson, likewise, shared glimpses of the campaign on his social media accounts, further amplifying the visibility of the collaboration and it seems as though fans are loving it so far.
Beyond footwear, the advertisement signals a larger narrative. Brunson’s role connects Kobe’s influence on today’s NBA stars, while Natalia continues to shape and preserve her father’s legacy in the public eye.
The playful moment where Brunson tries to “steal” the sneakers highlights both personalities while ensuring the focus remains on the product and its symbolism.
Jalen Brunson isn’t the only Knicks player stealing the show in the fashion theater
While Brunson has captured attention through the commercial, another Knicks player is making headlines for different reasons as Jordan Clarkson is preparing for his first season with New York.
The veteran guard recently appeared in Kith’s fall/winter 2025 fashion show in Manhattan, serving as one of the faces of the brand’s campaign under designer Ronnie Fieg as he already immerses himself into the local culture.
“I just think the energy in the arena,” Clarkson said. “This is a place [where] everybody wakes up and wants to play, wants to be a part of it.
“I think being a Knicks, in that sense, you have a sense of pride.”
The Knicks’ 2024 season was marked by highs and setbacks as although powered by Brunson’s efforts, they secured a strong playoff berth but fell short in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
Despite injuries to key players, the Knicks showcased resilience, laying a foundation for heightened expectations entering 2025.
