Buccaneers are activating WR Chris Godwin off PUP list
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are planning to activate wide receiver Chris Godwin off the PUP list, but he is still unlikely to play until October, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

Godwin is still recovering from a dislocated ankle he suffered in Week 7 last year. He’s been one of the most consistent wideouts in the NFL since he was drafted in 2017, earning a 75.7 PFF overall grade or higher in every season.
The advantage of activating Godwin off the PUP list is that he can practice with the team in September. Earlier this week, it was announced that second-year wideout Jalen McMillan would miss a significant chunk of the season with a strained neck suffered in last week’s preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, so the team’s wide receiver depth will be tested early in the year.
Dolphins RB Jaylen Wright leaves practice early

Per the report, Wright was seen walking off with a “noticeable limp” in the joint practice with the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Dolphins are already without starting running back De’Von Achane, who is sitting out the week with a calf injury, and Alexander Mattison, who was lost for the season with a neck injury in the preseason opener.
As a rookie in 2024, Wright ranked among the top 20 qualifying running backs in yards after contact per attempt (3.25) and missed tackles forced per attempt (0.24).
Zach Charbonnet pushing Kenneth Walker III for carries in Seahawks’ backfield

Walker, the team’s lead back over the past three years, has missed most of camp with a lingering foot injury, whereas Charbonnet has been present every day. Charbonnet had a strong showing in Seattle’s second preseason game against the Kansas City Chiefs, turning five carries into 45 yards and a touchdown.
If healthy, Seattle will have one of the top one-two duos in the NFL at the running back position. Last season, both players ranked among the top 15 running backs in PFF rushing grade. Walker was fourth at 91.3, and Charbonnet was 14th at 78.8.

Expectations have been high since day one when Wilson was drafted seventh overall in the 2023 NFL Draft. He struggled mightily in his rookie season, finishing the year with a 47.1 PFF overall grade, ranking 105th out of 112 qualifying edge defenders. He took a big step forward last season, climbing to 52nd (66.7).
Wilson recently said, “I feel like I’m playing faster, way more fluid than I have been before,” per the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The 25-year-old is primed for a big season alongside All-Pro Maxx Crosby and Malcolm Koonce, who missed the entire 2024 season with a torn ACL.
