O atacante Samuel Lino, do Flamengo, foi convocado neste sábado (30) pelo técnico Carlo Ancelotti para os jogos da seleção brasileira contra Chile e Bolívia, nas duas últimas rodadas das Eliminatórias da Copa do Mundo de 2026. A decisão se deu pela lesão sofrida por Matheus Cunha durante a partida entre Manchester United e Burnley, hoje, pela terceira rodada do Campeonato Inglês.
Ao tomar ciência da gravidade, o treinador italiano rapidamente optou pela convocação do atleta da equipe carioca. Contratado nesta janela de transferências, o ex-jogador do Atlético de Madrid tem seis partidas realizadas, com dois gols marcados e quatro assistências.
No X (antigo Twitter), torcedores rivais do Flamengo consideraram injusta a escolha de Carlo Ancelotti, isso porque haveriam outros nomes que já fazem por merecer uma oportunidade. Ao mesmo tempo, outros entendem que Samuel Lino mostrou muito pouco a ponto de ganhar rapidamente a confiança.

Samuel Lino será o substituto de Matheus Cunha, do Manchester United. O atacante, destaque na partida do Brasil contra o Paraguai, saiu machucado do jogo entre Manchester United e Burnley aos 30 minutos do primeiro tempo, aparentemente com um problema muscular na coxa esquerda. O clube ainda não deu mais detalhes sobre a situação do jogador.
Contudo, o departamento médico da CBF rapidamente entrou em contato com o clube inglês para ter uma noção melhor do que aconteceu. No início desta tarde, o perfil oficial da Confederação anunciou o corte do jogador e, na sequência, a escolha de Ancelotti.
Antes de Matheus Cunha, o treinador precisou desconvocar outros três atletas pelo mesmo motivo: o lateral-esquerdo Alex Sandro, do Flamengo, o volante Joelinton, do Newcastle, e o lateral-direito Vanderson, do Monaco. Posteriormente, foram chamados Jean Lucas, do Bahia, e Vitinho, do Botafogo. Para a lateral, o italiano preferiu não convocar um substituto.
Ancelotti explica ausência de Neymar
Diferente do que muitos imaginavam, Neymar ficou de fora da lista de Carlo Ancelotti. Segundo o comandante da seleção brasileira, o camisa 10 do Santos não precisa ser testado, mas admitiu que dará preferência para aqueles que estiverem em melhores condições físicas.
“Todo mundo conhece Neymar, a comissão, a Seleção, os torcedores do Brasil conhecem Neymar.” Como todos os outros, Neymar tem que estar numa boa condição física para ajudar a seleção nacional a fazer as coisas bem na Copa do Mundo.
Eliminatórias
Depois de flertar com um fracasso que seria histórico, o Brasil reagiu na reta final das Eliminatórias e assegurou a classificação para a Copa do Mundo 2026. Com 25 pontos, o time verde e amarelo é o terceiro colocado na tabela.
