A Cadillac será a 11ª equipe no grid da Fórmula 1, a partir de 2026. E o Torcedores.com mostra tudo o que já aconteceu com esta nova aventura de um time norte-americano, que fará companhia a Haas na principal categoria do automobilismo.
Na parte técnica, a Cadillac usará motores Ferrari, em suas duas primeiras temporadas, na F1. O objetivo dos norte-americanos é começar a produzir sua própria unidade de potência, a partir da temporada de 2028.
“(A Ferrari) anuncia hoje um acordo plurianual a partir de 2026 com a Andretti Formula Racing LLC, referente ao fornecimento de unidade de potência e caixa de câmbio para a equipe de corrida liderada pela TWG Global e pela General Motors”, explicou a escuderia italiana, no último mês de maio.
Valtteri Bottas e Sergio Pérez serão os pilotos titulares
O fato é que a Cadillac já definiu sua dupla de pilotos para o seu ano de estreia. Trata-se do finlandês Valtteri Bottas e do mexicano Sergio Pérez. O primeiro é o atual piloto reserva da Mercedes e o segundo está fora da F1, desde 2024, quando deixou a Red Bull. Vale ressaltar que o brasileiro Felipe Drugovich estava na disputa pela vaga.
Colton Herta fará sua estreia na F1 pelo time
Nesta quarta-feira (3), a Cadillac anunciou que terá Colton Herta, enquanto piloto reserva para 2026. O norte-americano de 25 anos vem da Fórmula Indy, onde pilotou pela Andretti nos últimos cinco anos. No campeonato de 2025, Herta terminou na 7ª colocação com 372 pontos ganhos e sem vencer um único GP.
“Meu sonho sempre foi correr na Fórmula 1. Vejo este passo (ida para a Cadillac) como um importante objetivo nesse sentido. Por agora, meu foco é fazer de tudo o possível para a Cadillac construir um time competitivo”, declarou Colton, no anuncio oficial.
