When it comes to entertaining NFL families, few can match the lively and often viral antics of brothers Jason and Travis Kelce. The two have become as famous for their off-field stories as for their football prowess, continuously giving fans unforgettable moments filled with humor and heart. Their latest tale, shared by Jason, is no exception.
The story surfaced during a recent episode of the podcast Bussin’ with the Boys, which aired shortly after the Nebraska Cornhuskers faced off against the Cincinnati Bearcats on August 28.
Travis Kelce spotted at Trader Joes in KC
This event was significant as it marked the first time the Kelce family appeared publicly together since Travis Kelce’s engagement to pop superstar Taylor Swift was announced.
Jason Kelce didn’t shy away from recounting an awkward but funny moment that happened during the game night.
“I’ve got a very embarrassing story from last night about beer,” Jason admitted, setting the scene. He explained that he had been casually drinking what he thought was regular beer throughout the day but then realized something was off.
The non-alcoholic beer mix-up
By the third quarter, Jason made a surprising discovery, he had been drinking non-alcoholic beer the entire time.
“It was the most shame I’ve ever felt in myself,” he joked, laughing at his own mistake. What made it even more amusing was that Taylor Swift was the one who revealed the truth to both Jason and Travis, letting them know they’d been unknowingly sipping on non-alcoholic brews.
Jason explained that Travis had fallen for the same trick, both brothers unaware they weren’t drinking regular beer. They had mistaken the non-alcoholic brand for a zero-calorie option, leading to a shared moment of disbelief. Jason humorously reflected on how much of the game they had wasted drinking what they thought was normal beer.
Adding to the fun, the game took place at Arrowhead Stadium, home of the Kansas City Chiefs, where both Kelce brothers played college football. Even Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes was part of the game-day excitement, adding star power to the family gathering.
The Kelce brothers’ connection to the stadium and the Chiefs organization only added to the memorable atmosphere of the night.
As the conversation turned toward Travis Kelce’s engagement to Taylor Swift, Jason expressed heartfelt support. “I love my brother and want him to have the best life possible,” he said, highlighting the importance of the relationship. Taylor has become a familiar face at Kelce family events, seamlessly blending into the NFL world with her energy and charm.
With the 2025-26 NFL season set to kick off soon and the Chiefs aiming to bounce back after their tough Super Bowl 59 loss, fans are eagerly awaiting more Kelce stories , especially now that Taylor Swift is part of the mix. The dynamic duo continues to remind everyone that off-field moments can be just as entertaining as the action on the gridiron.
