Jason Taylor had his ‘Coldplay moment’ during MNF: Who is his wife Monica and why did he ditch her?

While the Miami Dolphins took on the New York Jets on Monday Night Football, things turned unexpectedly viral when cameras captured former Dolphins star Jason Taylor in a now-infamous “Coldplay moment” with his wife, Monica Taylor.

During the game at Hard Rock Stadium, the camera panned to the VIP box where Jason and Monica were seated. In that brief shot, Monica appeared to be sitting on Jason’s lap before quickly standing up, just as they were being broadcast to millions of viewers.

Travis Hunter’s postgame gesture leaves fans in tears

The clip instantly took off on social media, with fans joking about the awkward timing and labeling it a classic “caught on camera” moment.

Some compared it to the now-viral trend from Coldplay concerts, where couples are spotlighted mid-embrace with someone who isn’t their significant other, often with humorous or uncomfortable results. One user quipped, “Did Jason Taylor just get Coldplayed?” while another joked that Jason looked like he was trying to explain away the moment as something else.

Who Is Monica Taylor?

While the viral moment may have taken the internet by storm, those familiar with Jason Taylor’s personal life weren’t surprised, as the woman in the video was none other than his wife, Monica Laurent Taylor.

Far from just being a former NFL spouse, Monica has built her own professional identity as an entrepreneur, philanthropist, and former cheerleader.

From 2013 to 2017, Monica served as a Miami Dolphins cheerleader, which is how she first met Jason. The two began dating and later married on August 18, 2020, after a year-long engagement. In July 2021, the couple welcomed their son, Jordan, adding another chapter to their life together.

Beyond her connection to football, Monica is the founder and creative director of Monuit, a women’s sleepwear and lifestyle brand. According to her LinkedIn profile and company website, she’s passionate about fashion, wellness, and empowering women through high-quality design.

Monica also plays a leading role in philanthropy, working alongside Jason as the Vice President of the Jason Taylor Foundation, which focuses on supporting underprivileged children and educational programs throughout South Florida.

Her experience as a cheerleader, public figure, and business leader has made her a dynamic force both within and beyond the NFL community.

While some viewers initially speculated that Jason had been “caught red-handed,” it quickly became clear the moment involved his own wife, putting any controversy to rest. Unlike past viral moments where public figures were caught in compromising situations, this incident ended up being more humorous than scandalous.

Still, the moment captured online buzz, proving once again that in the age of live TV and social media, even a split second can become headline-worthy. For Monica Taylor, however, it was just another fleeting moment in a life already lived in the spotlight.
