Authorities have released new details surrounding the stabbing incident involving former NFL quarterback and FOX Sports analyst Mark Sanchez, including 911 dispatch audio that captures the tense early moments after the attack in downtown Indianapolis.
The recording, obtained by TMZ, reveals first responders urgently coordinating their response following a 00:30 call about multiple people being injured. Former New York Jets man Sanchez was one of them.

In the clip, dispatchers and officers can be heard asking about available security footage while directing units to the scene.
One voice instructs responders to “lock down the bar” where the altercation took place, emphasizing that it should be treated “like a crime scene – no one in or out.”
Moments later, another responder notes that there are “good cameras in the alleyway” near where the stabbing occurred, suggesting authorities are already working to secure video evidence.
The call also includes an update from someone at the scene saying they believed “two people have been stabbed,” which later matched the official police report.
According to Indianapolis Metropolitan Police, one individual sustained stab wounds while another suffered lacerations during the confrontation.
Police confirm Sanchez was among the injured
TMZ first broke the news that Sanchez, 38, was hospitalized after the attack. The former Jets quarterback was in town preparing to cover Sunday’s NFL game between the Indianapolis Colts and Las Vegas Raiders for FOX Sports when the incident occurred.
Police later confirmed that Sanchez was one of the individuals injured in the stabbing and that he was taken to a local hospital, where he remains in stable condition. Investigators have not released full details about what led up to the altercation or who initiated the confrontation.
However, in a surprising twist, Indianapolis police later announced that Sanchez himself had been taken into custody hours after the attack.
He was booked on charges of battery with injury, unlawful entry of a motor vehicle, and public intoxication, according to police records.
Authorities are now reviewing surveillance footage from nearby businesses and the alleyway mentioned in the 911 call to piece together how the stabbing unfolded. Investigators have not said whether Sanchez’s injuries occurred before or during the altercation that led to his arrest.
The former NFL player turned broadcaster, best known for leading the New York Jets to back-to-back AFC Championship Games in 2009 and 2010, has not issued a public statement.
FOX Sports released a brief message on Saturday confirming Sanchez’s hospitalization and thanking medical personnel for their care.
