José Martínez ainda não se reapresentou ao Corinthians. O volante venezuelano faltou aos últimos cinco treinos e se comunicou com a diretoria pela última vez na sexta-feira, 10 de outubro.
Por causa do sumiço, ele está fora do clássico de quarta-feira (15), contra o Santos, às 21h30 (de Brasília), na Vila Belmiro, pelo Brasileirão.
O que Martínez diz
O Timão voltou às atividades na quarta-feira passada (8), após período de três folgas durante a Data Fifa. Desde então, a diretoria aguarda pelo retorno de Martínez, que não dá maiores explicações sobre o problema e quando viajará para São Paulo.
O jogador alegou motivos familiares para o atraso no retorno ao Brasil, segundo o site ‘Meu Timão’. Ele explicou que estava com problemas com a documentação do filho, que está de mudança da Venezuela para o Brasil.

Mais um desfalque para o Corinthians
Enquanto esperam por novo contato, o executivo de futebol do Corinthians, Fabinho Soldado, e Dorival Júnior decidiram não relacioná-lo contra o Santos, até em função do período sem treinar. O técnico mostrou-se muito incomodado com a postura do comandado.
Martínez jogou por 62 minutos na vitória por 3 a 0 sobre o Mirassol e era cotado para seguir na equipe titular. Quando voltar, deve ficar no banco de reservas.
Além dele, o Corinthians terá outros três desfalques. Hugo Souza, pela seleção brasileira, Félix Torres, pelo Equador, e Ángel Romero, pelo Paraguai, jogam na terça-feira por suas seleções. Com isso, a tendência é que não enfrentem o Santos, mas eles podem ficar no banco de reservas.

Figura presente nas recentes convocações da Venezuela, o meio-campista ficou fora dos amistosos contra Argentina e Belize, nesta Data Fifa. Ele foi titular na reta final das Eliminatórias para a Copa do Mundo e viu sua equipe não garantir a vaga para a repescagem, que ficou com a Bolívia.
Por causa do período livre, Martínez aproveitou para retornar à Venezuela, para preparar a mudança da família.
