Eins davon: Maycon Douglas Cardozo (17).

Pete Alonso signing with Orioles: Mets slugger bolts for Baltimore on five-year, $155 million contract

The Baltimore Orioles have agreed to terms with the top power hitter remaining on the free agent market. The O's and first baseman Pete Alonso have agreed to a five-year contract worth $155 million, CBS Sports has confirmed. The deal does not include any opt outs, per the New York Post. The team has not yet announced the signing.  The signing comes one day after it was reported the Orioles offered Kyle Schwarber the same five-year, $150 million contract he took to return to the Philadelphia Phillies. Essentially, the O's added $1 million per year to that contract, pivoted to Alonso, and got it done. The $31 million is the second-highest average annual value ever given to a first baseman. Back Bills to Win Super Bowl … Because What Could Go Wrong?

What if I told you back in August that Patrick Mahomes, Joe Burrow and Lamar Jackson would all be watching the NFL playoffs from home?Only four weeks remain in the regular season and, honestly, the situation laid out above isn’t too farfetched if you really think about it.  Burrow’s Bengals are dead and buried while Mahomes’ Chiefs and Jackson’s Ravens are literally underdogs to make the postseason. The Chiefs are as high as -800 to miss in the market.  If you knew then what you know now … what would’ve been the play?"Oh, I would’ve emptied the clip on Buffalo," one professional bettor told me from Las Vegas. "The only team that’s stopped Josh Allen is Kansas City. That’s the only one that matters. Mahomes is their kryptonite."And yet a path without all three is obviously easier. This page may contain […]

What’s Next: Pete Alonso Gives Baltimore a Boost and the Mets Need to Act Fast

ORLANDO, Fla. – In the latest shake-up to the Mets’ core, the club’s all-time home run leader is bound for Baltimore. Just one day after losing longtime closer Edwin Díaz to the Dodgers in free agency, and weeks after trading Brandon Nimmo to the Rangers, Pete Alonso is the latest franchise icon to depart from Queens this winter after agreeing to a five-year, $155 million deal with the Orioles that will give him the highest average annual value ever for a first baseman in free agency. A year ago, Alonso was unable to secure the long-term deal he coveted coming off a down year by his standards. He settled for a two-year, $54 million contract that included an opt-out, which he exercised this winter after raising all of his slash-line numbers in 2025, hitting 44% above league average and passing Daryl Strawberry […]
